Chapter One
"Sorry, Sorry! Excuse me!" Bella Evans said over her shoulder as she dashed and weaved around students, sprinting down the corridor as fast as she could, pissing off more than one student.
But she didn't care, not today. Bell would much rather have them grumble then her being caught by Draco Malfoy's gang of notoriously wicked Slytherins. Again.
Yeah, pathetic, right? She was running from them. Bloody gits. Even though it did damage a lot of her self-esteem and dignity for running from idiots that couldn't tell left from right, she'd much rather be the girl that could out-run the bloodthirsty school bullies then the girl that had gotten beat by them.
She could hear them laughing loudly behind her, not caring as they shoved past students to keep up with her, and she was flinging hexes past her, but couldn't see as she wouldn't risk slowing down to look and see if she had hit them.
Bella prided herself for possibly being the best sprinter at Hogwarts. But, hell, she had a lot of practice Running From Slytherins. She was like, the punching bag of the fifth year. Their Favorite form of entertainment (Well, besides snogging each other between classes or mocking that Neville Longbottom)
Bella gritted her teeth and ran around a corner, sliding slightly on her converse as they skidded across the floor, and her arms flailed in a desperate attempt to keep herself from falling.
She made an attempt to keep running but someone had grabbed her arm and slammed her into the wall. She swallowed and glared at her captor, none other then Blaise Zabini, who was followed closely by Crabbe and Goyle, each panting heavily. She smirked slightly then looked back at Blaise, who was sneering and he stepped back. She tensed, ready to run if their was a chance, but already Crabbe and Goyle had blocked any exit.
Her eyes flickeredd to a few students walking by, seeing if they would help her out, but most of them pretended that they didn't notice her. The most she got was sympathetic gazes, but like that would help her. No one liked to mess with Draco Malfoy's gang. They had made sure of that.
Just as she was going to say something to Blaise, with lots of sarcasm, mind you, Draco Malfoy appeared around the corner, heading for them, a sneer on his face. Speak of the devil.
He advanced forward, and Bella inwardly groaned and snapped at Zabini "Shove off, Blaise, let go of me." She jerked her arm out of his grip, and his hand clenched but Malfoy gave him a look. Bella backed against the wall as far as she could, and Malfoy snickered saying in a mocking voice "Manners, Evans, i don't think your one to be ordering people around."
She retorted, her temper getting the better of her "Why don't you go practice quidditch or something, after last night's game, we all know you need it" His cheeks turned slightly pink and rage flashed in his eyes. Gryffindor had beat Slytherin, which in turn caused the Gryffindor common room to be rampant with celebration. She herself had stayed up until two, which probably was one of the reasons why they had caught her. She had been slacking and hadn't noticed them until it was too late and she had to run.
Crabbe cracked his knuckles in a way to appear menacing, and Malfoy yanked her forward, his hands gripping her arm so tight it would be sure to leave marks in the morning. Bella's eyes widened in surprise, as Malfoy never really was the phsyical type, he left that to Crabbe and Goyle. No, he usually insulted her or even hexed her.
He glared at her fiercely "Watch your mouth, Mudblood" Bella's face flushed. Mudblood, he had called her. An ugly, ugly word. No matter how many times she had been called that, it always had the same effect.
She grimaced and finally swallowed down a threat. She wouldn't lower herself to his level, she musn't. I can get out of this, she thougt a she eyes flickered around, looking for an escape.
Crabbe and Goyle were grinning. Blaise was watching them, smirking. Bella was surprised he was there, he wasn't always when they chased Bella.
Malfoy laughed loudly when she went silent and Bella hated him for it.
"Filch cleans the 7 floor corridor's every Thursday at 4 o'clock' She hissed.
Malfoy's arrogant grin widened, saying "Filch doesn't give a damn about students, as long as we're not making a mess."
He raised an eyebrow at her, muttering in her ear so the others couldn't hear "but if you'd like to go somewhere private, that's fine with me" She swallowed, knowing it was an empty threat, she knew because he routinely said how much her filthy blood revolted him. He said things like that all the time, but it never ceased to make her shudder.
She forced her face to remain blank and she said heatedly "Like any girl would touch you besides that complete prat, Parkinson." That was an outright lie, because most girls fawned over him. He looked murderous and stepped back. That was when she knew she had gone too far, and Crabbe stepped forward, and backhanded Bella straight across the face, much to the amusement of Blaise and Goyle.
Her face burned with shame more then anything. It wouldn't leave a mark, but even if it did, she knew she would make up an excuse about it. There was nothing she could do. The students still ignored them, and fury rose through Bella.
How could they see this and yet do nothing? Tears threatened to fall but she swallowed them back and refused to look at any of them, except at the wall behind their heads. How had she let herself be in this situation again? Dammit, she wanted to just attack them, but there was too many, and one day she swore she would. She'd get her revenge.
Suddenly, Crabbe stepped back away from her, and she raised an eyebrow. Bella grinned, thinking maybe her wish had come true and they all were terrified of her.
Malfoy too was watching something and she turned. Oh. Thats what they were afraid of. Snape was walking by. Bella smiled weakly. Alright, she had a bit of a big imagination thinking they were actually afraid of her.
This was her time to run, Seeing as they couldn't do anything to her anymore, even though it was Snape, and he practically let the Slyherins do anything. She immediatly started walking away, keeping pace with Snape, just behind him. Malfoy and his gang glared at her back but they all knew she could get away when a teacher was around.
Bella looked over her shouder, and smirked.

Bella stood in the Gryffindor Fifth-year girl's dorm, using Lavender's handheld mirror to examine her face. There was a slightly purple outline on her cheek, in the shape of Crabbe's chubby hand and she traced it gently with her finger. As the pain sparked through her cheeks, she filled her mind with revenge. Pushing Malfoy off a cliff. Shoving Blaise in that cabinet that was in that weird room that she always used to hide from them. Hitting Crabbe and Goyle as many times as they had hit her.
She licked her lips, and set the mirror back on Lavender's bedside table. No one would notice the slight bruise, just like no one ever noticed the times they had tormented her.
Some things never changed.
