Have you ever just woken up one day and just wanted to give up on life, on everything?

No?

Well, I have, and unfortunately that day happened as soon as I woke up this morning. Let me back it up here for you a little bit; well actually I'll just start from the beginning.

My name is Scarlett... Scarlett Rose Donovan. I know what you're probably thinking! 'Jeez, didn't her parents have any common sense? They gave her a stripper name!' I know, I know.

Anyways, I just turned 23. Of course, I was born on the 4th of July in Fort Worth Texas. My parents were the best when I was growing up. We lived in Texas my whole life. My dad served 35 years for the local police force and my mom was a lawyer. You could say we were pretty well off that I never wanted for anything. Of course, I never asked for anything too outrageous. That still didn't stop my silly parents from buying me a car when I turned 16, which ended up totaled 3 weeks later. Safe to say they didn't buy me another car anytime soon.

We lived in the coolest house ever! It was an old farmhouse, white paint with green accents all around, including the front door. It sat on 7 acres of land that has belonged to my family for 4 generations. My mom was kind of uptight, I mean come on she was a fucking lawyer what did you expect? My dad on the other hand was wrapped around my finger and laid back. SUPER protective of course, me being an only child and his little princess.

So, when I was 7 up until he died when I was 21, he made sure I knew how to defend myself at hand-to-hand combat and with a firearm. I mean what else would expect from a longtime standing officer? Being that as it may I'm in pretty decent shape thanks to my dad. I stand at a whopping 5'4" and I weigh 110 lbs., I know, not very impressive. When I turned 16 the training got more intense since guys started to notice me more, which in turn made my dad very uncomfortable.

I remember the day I went to the station on his birthday with a cake for him and his friends. There was a newbie on the force, fresh out of the academy only 20 years old. He made the mistake of staring at me for too long and my dad pulled a gun on him and said, "Take your eyes off of my daughter before I shoot them out of your tiny little skull". It was the funniest but also the most awkward situation I have ever found myself in. Especially when the captain came out of his office too see what was going on. Safe to say I wasn't allowed to go into the station anymore, even after my dad got off his 2-week suspension for the little incident.

If every guy didn't find me so attractive I wouldn't have to worry about my dad. Even to this day I don't understand why guys even approach me, I'm just average.

I have long dark brown hair with blonde highlights to liven it up. I have a small waist and even though I'm shorter than most my legs seem really long. The only attractive part of myself I find is my eyes, a medium green color with gold-colored flecks in them.

I've never seen another person with the same color eyes as me. Even my parents could never explain my unusual eyes considering they both had brown eyes, even going back in the family tree nobody ever had the same color eyes. Well, enough about me already. Let's skip forward a little to the interesting stuff. So, I was never really good in school. I got in a lot of fights and was always ended up getting suspended for stupid reasons, must be my short temper. Safe to say I had no desire to go to college. After high school I planned on going to the Police Academy and becoming an officer like my dad. But as fate would have it, I never got that far. Because of my terrible grades I got held back not once but twice. When I finally was able to graduate, I was already 20 years old. Ugh school was so stupid, like I'm going to use any of that information in real life! Anyways, I was set to start intake at the academy a month after my 21st birthday.
