CHAPTER NINE

RISE'S POV

On the next day...

There was nothing right now provided me with any solace. I can't even hear our teacher's discussions, I had been passived the whole time. My friends were worrying about me, but I just told them not to worry. It's just that I need some time to absurb all the things that is happening to my life, right now.

Of all the beings here in this world, why it should be me? I'm just an eighteen year old girl. Isn't that enough that I am a motherless? Isn't it?! And Why me?

I wasn't in myself the whole day and hadn't realized that my classes just ended. “You've been like that the whole time, what's wrong?” Hade said, actually she was my only friend who was present for our afternoon classes, I didn't bother to ask her why the others were not around, maybe they have some important appointments to go.

“It's just that I'm not feeling well”
I answered. She told me that she can take me to my house but I didn't let her.

“I can manage myself, don't worry.” I gave her my smile for assurance.

“fine, if that's what you say” she said with full of concerns in her eyes. Sorry to let you guys worry. You may not understand what am I feeling, right now.

I planned to go to the rooftop until all the students are gone. I was walking through the hallways. My phone suddenly rang. I looked for it inside my pocket and it's Joongki oppa.

I didn't answer his call, I don't know but it's better to avoid him right now rather to say something inappropriate for him to hear.

“Rise?” I looked around if there was someone calling my name. But there was nobody. Maybe I was just hallucinating again or being paranoid. Seriously? Am I still afraid of ghosts? No way..

I quickened my pace, as I headed my way to the rooftop.

As soon as I arrived, I never heard someone calling my name again and then, suddenly oppa called again, I did block my track for him so he can't find me. I just want to be alone, right now.

And then, the last night flashed across my mind, I embraced my knees as I rested my head on it.

“It's about your father” Oppa said, as he looked down.

“What's wrong?” My eyes started to tremble as soon as I heard about my father. “He's getting worst” Oppa said.

“No”A grunt left from my lips. “I need to get back there already” I added.

“No, he won't let you do that” Oppa said as he stared into my eyes. “He needs me” my eyes became unsteady..

“Oppa” And the tears in my eyes started to form and ran down through my cheeks. “What should I do? I am not yet ready”

“You need to be strong and then you can comeback” He suddenly grabbed me and gave me his comfortable hug. And I started to burst. “Everything's gonna be fine, Rise” He raked his fingers through my hair. “I just want to be at his side, right now”

“I'm sorry”  Joongki oppa softly said.

The tears from my eyes kept flowing through my cheeks. I keep crying to ease the pain I've been keeping. Mum? I wish you were here. Father needs you...
