chapter 5

We arrived at a mini-market a few miles away from the prison. I got out of the car first and I went to where the door was. I tried to listen carefully if something or someone was in there. 'Hey' I listened someone saying from behind me. It sounded almost like a whisper. I turned around and I saw Rick. He gave me a gun. "I have my knife" I said. "You'll be safer with the gun. Use it only if you're in a big danger" he replied. I nodded and I took it. I looked at the door again and I knocked three times. We waited for a while.

"Together?" I said without facing him.

He came next to me. "Together!"
"One...two...three" and he kicked the door. He got in first. I followed him. We raised our guns and we looked everywhere. Nothing dangerous was in there. I put my gun down. Rick did the same too. "Take only what we need" he said. "That's right" I said. "We are not the only ones left alive". I found a bag and I started putting things in, such as protein bars, toothpaste, toothbrushes, a few lighters and some sweets. I turned around and I saw Rick. He had two bags on his left hand and he was holding a comic book on his right.

"What is that?" I asked him.

"Oh it's a comic book. It was the only one left. I thought that Carl may like it. It' a..."

"OH MY GOD!!" I yelled and took it from him. He looked at me curious. "Shhh. Take it easy Viv" he said.

"I'm sorry but... But... It's an Iron Man comic book!! I am a big fan."

"Yeah! I can see that."

"I had almost all of them. And this one is my favorite!"

"Then take it."

"What? No I can't. You took for Ca-"

"And I give it to you! It's all yours. I can see it makes you happy."

"Thank you Rick!" I said and I kissed his cheek. 'Oh shit!' I was screaming inside. Why did I do that? Was the nessecery? I looked down. I didn't want to see his reaction. I coughed slightly. "I think we should go know. What do you say?" I said still looking down without facing him.

"Yeah!" he said.

Rick's POV

We got in the car and I started driving. We didn't say anything on our way back home. Vivian was looking outside. She didn't took his eyes away to face me not even for a second. I was trying not to look at her. I could see that she was feeling uncomfortable and I didn't want to make her feel worse. I gess she regreted it. Beside, it was just a kiss on cheek. I could kiss her too, couldn't I? It's no big deal. I wish I knew what she was thinking. Did it mean something? Anyway. I'd like to read that comic. I think I like that hero now. God bless Iron Man!

We arrived at the prison. We gave our bags to Hersel and he took care of them. After that me and Vivian sepperated and I went to our little farm. Carl was caming after me. I thought it was the right time for us to talk but we saw Michonne. She had a horse.

"Where are you going?" I asked her.

"To search for supplies as I always do"

"You don't have to. Me and Vivian went. We arrived a few minutes ago."

"Oh I didn't know. By the way, I think I'll go. I'll search for some candies and comics. I think Carl would like them."

"You do" Carl said

"Shut up!" she replied and she punsed him softly on the soldier. Carl seems to like her a lot. Everybody does. At first I didn't like her and I didn't trust her but I was wrong. We said goodbye and she left.

"Dad, I want to tell you something" Carl said.

"What is it?"

"I want to tell you... I.... I'm sorry I was mean. I was mean with you and with... Vivian."

"Carl, I am not asking you to like her. I am asking at least to be nice. That's who you are. That's how your mother and I raised you" I said and I hugged him. "You have to apologize to her too."

"I will. Dad.."

'Bang' we heard gunshots and screamings coming from prison.

"Carl go to the tower with Maggie. Don't argue. GO" I ran to prison. "Walkers on D" Glenn said.
