"R-r-r-Ryan....?"

Everything was black.
I collapsed.
I fell apart.
Our mission failed.
I don't know what got into me.

"Luna? Wake up!" Kate said numerous times, shaking me as my eyes drifted open. I saw blue tiles for a ceiling, and my surroundings looked a lot like a....bathroom.

My head tilted up slightly as I saw stalls and urinals pas Kate's face, as she gleamed with pride and happiness.

"You're okay!" She said, smiling at me. I got up and saw Ryan behind me as he gave me a gentle smile as well.

Without saying anything, I turned around, on my knees, and hugged him. It only lasted a few seconds until I started gathering the smell of fish and wet dog.

I stood up. "Why does the boy's bathroom smell like fish?"

"Things I should not mention" Ryan said under his breath with his eyes staring into space. A galaxy of horror and fright.

"I tried to get Ryan's attention from shouting at the wall. But this dumbass here couldn't here me. I tell ya, he's practically deaf" Kate said to me. "I didn't wanna go in the boys bathroom, but I had to."

"Well thanks for that, I guess" I said to her. "What happened?

"Well." Kate started explaining. "I just saw the words on the wall. I got your attention as you said Ryan's name and broke down. I guess you blacked out. After my attempts at waking you up, I just left some cold water on your face in hopes of you gaining the feeling. After, I went to inspect the "blood"" She quoted her fingers to exaggerate the word blood. "It was just red paint, or ketchup. I didn't taste it, but I'm pretty sure it was ketchup. I guess the ghost likes to prank people." She chuckled.

"And then I saw Kate burst into this bathroom. I saw you and I wanted to help, so I sat your head up spit would be easier for you to breathe" Ryan explained.

"Wow. Thanks guys. And that's not sarcastic." I chuckled and peeked out the door. "It looks as if the coast is clear... do you want to try the cafeteria again? It's a bigger space. We may have a chance-"

"To try out this new camera!" Ryan shouted, jumping up. He explained to Kate, " This camera was modified by me and Luna. It detects all entities, all living beings and things. All living molecules, all living-"

"That's enough. I get it" she said, chuckling. "Nerd."

They argued even more as I started walking through the door and running to the elevator. They started sprinting towards me, still having their argument.

Once we all met up, we were all left standing with an elevator in front of us. It required a key to work.

"Anyone got a quarter?"

"I think I got one left over from those vending machines" Kate said, shoving her hand in her pocket and pulling out a coin. She flicked it to me as I caught it and started fiddling with the key hole. As Kate and Ryan observed, I got the sliding doors to open as we stepped into the leather patented elevator.

"Where did you learn that trick?" Ryan said as he selected floor  1 and stood back.

"Security guard. Remember when I was on crutches?" I said, giving the quarter back to Kate. "He forgot his key, so he just used a quarter to fiddle with the system and I guess it works"

After that, there wasn't much conversation. The elevator stopped and we settled up to get out. Although, the doors didn't open.

Kate grabbed onto my arm and kept hold. The light went out as Ryan and I frantically shoved all the buttons. The button to call 911 wouldn't work, and the button to call for security was pointless. If there was any security, it was the cameras scattered all around the school.

That's when realization came. "G-guys.." I muttered. My friends turned to look at me.
"W-we can't escape th-this.... Look at the cameras..."

We all turned our head to the one corner of the small elevator. A glowing red camera was present.

"This- thing... Knows where we are at all times; were-"

I got cutoff at the rumbling and shaking of the small box. The buttons smashed, almost everything was cracking. Even the doors.

An idea flashed in my mind. I stepped over to the doors and pried them open with my two hands, until they were open to the point we could all see and get out of.

The view was horrifying. We were past the second floor, in the middle of the first and second floors. We were going down rapidly, down to our end.

I could see a rectangle of light where the first floor was. I knew the only way to get out of this was to jump.

"We're going to have to jump for it!" I said as Kate and Ryan came next to me with frightened faces. We all grabbed onto each other as the light came closer.

"On three!" I screamed as we came closer to the first floor.

"One!"

"Two..."

"Three!"

We all said together as we leaped out of the crashing elevator and landed hard on the tiled ground. I scooted over to where the elevator should be to see it falling down. It hit the bottom floor with a passionate bang as waves of dust came flying up. I turned my head away to avoid the cough the dust would bring.

I looked towards the other two. "Are you guys okay?" I muttered to them. Kate lifted her head with a groan that sounded a little bit like a 'yes'.

Although Ryan didn't move. We stoop up and went over to him. He was lifeless.

"Oh no. Not again..!" Kate said under her breath as I started to panic. I pushed his chest up and down and let him sit for a while. I had done everything I could and I hoped that he was alive, and letting him rest would let him re gain his energy.

"Kate, this is too much. We have to call the police now. We're done here"

She dialed on her phone and put it up to her ear. I got so mad. I faced the camera in the corner of the hall.

"It's over. I'm coming back tomorrow; alone. It's you and me." I said over the voices of Kate and her phone. "Let's do it."

On that word, the camera shattered. I stepped back in surprise and fear as the roof started rumbling.

"Duck!"

The roof crumbled on top of us, and everything turned black.
