RED EYE
I was laying down, on the hotel bed, in the room I had rented for the week. I was here for the Annual Suspense Author Signing, at the Bank Corp South Center. I had found a nice little hotel called Econo Lodge Hotel to stay at, rented a room, and that's what landed me here, though what I found odd, was that the lady at the front desk told me not to knock on, or go into the room across from me 507. Being the girl that loves mystery and all that, I got curious. I opened my door and walked the 1 yard distance, across the hall. I bent down and, although it was wrong and an invasion of privacy, looked through the key hole. All i saw was pure red. that was odd seeing as I should at least be able to see some furniture. I walked back to my room and looked through the key hole to my room, sure enough, I could see furniture. I went back across the hall and, yet again, looked through the key hole. I saw furniture this time, a bare bed, a dresser with an old television set on it, and a reddish brown stain on the floor. Other than the bareness of the bed, and the stain on the floor, it looked just like my room. what was the red I saw before? I was a little weirded out so I went back to my room and went to bed, deciding that tomorrow, when someone other than that lady was working, I would ask about it.
"May I help you?" asked the man at the desk.
"Yes, actually. Yesterday I saw nothing but red in the door of the room across form me," I replied. I didn't want him to know i had looked through the key hole. "I was wondering if you could tell me why."
"What room was it ma'am?" he asked politely.
"507, I'm in 506," his face went pale.
"I'm sorry miss, but i have no knowledge of anything red in that room," he lied.
"Okay, thank you," I replied, making a note to go to the library and search it later.
I sat down in the chair in front of the computer. I was determined to find out what that red was, so I searched "Econo Lodge Hotel, room 507," One article popped up.
