Tight black jeans with a rip on one knee clung to his body as he walked down the sidewalk. Black ink tattoos stained his tan skin permanently, their meanings known only to him. His lip was pierced and his hair had vibrant shades of blue dyed in streaks in the front. He was not the boy he was two years ago. He was different; he was tough. He wasn't the shy, quiet boy. He was the man who if you got in his way, you regretted it.

Two years had passed since Louis had been in high school. A week after he graduated, he was still being bullied. That's when he snapped. He built himself to not be the small boy he was, but to the intimidating muscle strength he is now. The next time the bullies came, he was ready. He beat them for the days he'd spent in misery. For the embarrassment and humiliation they gave him. He showed no mercy. His hands were shaky, and covered in blood. He'd never so much as hurt a fly before. He walked out of that back alley different. He walked out a fighter. Most of all, he became someone to be feared.

-Her point of view-

It was a simple day, nothing out of the ordinary. I walked down to the bakery after work to grab a bite to eat and more importantly, my coffee. I was exhausted, working longer than usual. I have an extra part time job down at a little shop down the street, due to needing a little more cash then normal. I was dragging my feet to the shop, I need of my caffeine. I checked my phone for the time, and it was already well past nine. I never get out of work so late! No wonder I'm so tired. I opened the door to see maybe one or two people lingering around. Stopping at the counter I paid for my regular things that the worker already had ready for me, due to the fact were good friends and she so happened to be my roommate.

"What took you so long to get here? I was about to call the cops." She joked. She could always make me smile after a rough day at work.

"Just working overtime, Lace. I definitely lost track of time though, I normally get out before dark." I took my stuff and plopped down at one of the stools on the bar to talk to her.

"When do you get off today?" I continued, taking a bite of my food.

"Not till late," She sighed. "I've got the closing shift. Josh is out of town so I'm covering for him." I took a sip of my drink as someone walked in, setting off the bell on the door. My eyes wandered up to the door, taking in the man who had just walked ins appearance. I nearly choked on my drink when I saw who it was.

Louis.

I hadn't seen him since high school, not after he had changed so much. His hair was colored, he had stubble, he had tattoos. I felt as if his looks should scare me, but in all reality... I found him pretty attractive. I'd always had a bit of a crush on him in high school, but never got the chance to speak to him more. I had tried to get Rick and his posse of idiots to stop bullying him, poor Louis never deserved any of it. But what did scare me was his reputation. I've heard what he's done. And it's not pretty. I was snapped out of my thoughts when his pale blue eyes met mine, causing me to quickly look down at my plate. I could feel his eyes on me as he walked up to the counter, ordering a drink from Lace. He stood awkwardly as she made his drink, when I decided to speak up.

"H-hi Louis." I stuttered, looking up to him. "How've you been?" He smiled at me, his lip ring catching my attention.

"Hey, I've been good. How've you been? It feels like forever since I've seen you last." He said nonchalantly. The Louis I went to high school with never spoke so freely, he always was looking down and stuttering. He was a new person, but that was a good thing. I think.

"I've been good, thanks." I smiled, shyly looking down from his gaze.

"Here ya go, enjoy!" Lace hands Louis his drink, and he goes and sits in the corner chair checking his phone. I look back to Lace, with her giving me a questioning look. I mouth, 'I'll explain later' before getting up and brushing off my dark jeans before stating,

"Well, time for me to go home. Good luck with the late shift, I'll see you back at the house." I reach over the counter giving her a quick hug.

"Thanks love. Have a safe walk home!" She bid me goodbye before running off in the back kitchen. I grabbed my drink before pushing open the door and walking down the dark street home.

Halfway through the walk I decide to take a short cut through an alley, which I was quite fearful of, but my feet were aching and I wanted to get home quick. The alley was quite dark, and I stumbled a bit through. I felt a hand grab my wrist and before I could react, I was slammed hard into the brick wall. My head hit the wall quite hard, and I mumbled an "ouch." I was pinned to the wall by a tall man, who had the stench of alcohol on his breath.

"Whatsa pretty girl like yous doin' here at this time a night?" He slurred, one hand slipping down to my waist. I moved away from the mans touch, before responding.

"Going home, so if I could just go past yo-" I said trying to maneuver my way out.

"Not so fast there. Maybe you wanna keep me company aye?" He smiled evilly. I put both my hands on his chest and shoved as hard as I could, which only caused him to stumble a bit but not far enough for me to escape.

"P-please let me go?" I pleaded, obviously just having made him mad.

"I don't think so. Now you're gonna get it." He said roughly before bringing his hand back, and swinging it down at my face. I feel a sharp sting across my cheek and I stumble downwards at the force, but the attacker simply yanks my back up.

"S-stop please," I beg, knowing it'll be of no use. The man laughs bitterly, and before he says anything a deep, intimidating voice cuts him off.

"Let her go." The voice rumbles. I whip my head in the direction of the voice, a few tears falling and making their way down my face. I see the mans face, and I'm immediately swept away with a sense of relief but also fear. I've heard what he can do. The attacker simply laughs, before turning his attention back to me. I close my eyes tightly, avoiding eye contact with the vile man. As he runs one of his hands down my body, I quickly feel him being ripped off me and hear his body collide with the ground with a thud. I open my eyes to see Louis on top of the man, laying punches on his face as if his life depended on it. I hear his deep voice growl, "I. Said. Don't. Touch. Her." as he continued to further beat the man. I watched in horror, as I saw the mans life begin to slip away. But Louis wasn't stopping.

"L-Louis." I didn't catch his attention. "Louis!" I said louder. Still nothing. I grabbed onto his shoulder, shaking him. "Louis please stop he's dying Louis you can't kill him please" I rushed in one large sentence. Louis stopped his actions to my relief, and got off the man who was now very unconscious, but alive. He stood up, looking down at me. I immediately felt a fear of him, even though he had just saved me. If I didn't stop him he would've killed the man. How many people has he killed?

"T-thank you.. Louis.. For um, that. Yeah.." I stuttered out. Man, I've barely ever stutter, but when I'm around this boy he just does something to me.

"No problem." He said as if it were nothing. He paused before saying, "Anything for a pal." I quickly looked up at him, remembering how I said those exact words to him after defending him. I smiled lightly back at him, blushing. He remembered?

"I'm going to walk you home. Just to make sure you make it there okay." He stated. He acted like it wasn't even a question, but I shrugged it off. I simply started walking towards the direction, Louis following by quickly.

We'd been walking in silence the entire time, and we'd just arrived at my house. As we walked onto the porch, I turned to Louis.

"Thanks for walking me home." I said quietly. He nodded in response before reaching around to my back pocket and slipping my phone out. I looked at him, confused. I began to question him but he handed my back my phone.

"If you're ever in trouble call me." He said firmly, looking me right in the eyes. My eyes darted around nervously. He still scared me a bit. He looked a bit confused, but then it seemed to click in his head.

"I scare you, don't I?" He asked, more to himself than to me. I looked down at my shoes before responding.

"A little bit.." I admitted quietly. He nodded before saying something that puzzled me.

"I'll change that."
