Got a good idea at 12am seeing an eerie light from a neighbour's house. Hope its sad enough for you ~

It was late in the night, and after a long day at work you laid next to your husband of 3 unforgettable years, Makoto. It was a perfect setting for a romantic novel, you were cradled in your husbands arm's staring into the street as a soft rain tapped the window.

"Did you go to the doctor to check out your pains?" Makoto purred into your ears, stroking your hair. You had abnormal pains recently and promised your husband you would get them checked, finding out that a small child was forming in your stomach. You hadn't decided when to tell Makoto, but you wouldn't keep it more than a few days.

"Yeah, I did. It was nothing," You smile.

You felt Makoto kiss the back of your hair, whispering, "Any pain to you isn't nothing. I'm glad you're okay," You smiled and looked out at the houses in your street as the rain began to fall heavier. You saw an eerie red glow on one of the houses and then saw a flame lick the side of the house.

"Makoto!" You immediately sat up, panic in your voice.

"What's wrong?" His voiced quivered in response to your fright.

"T-That house is on fire!" You pointed to a house down the street, your arms shaking. As a fireman, Makoto knew how to handle fires and was willing to help in any situation.

"Stay here, I'll be right back," Makoto kissed you on the forehead, running outside in his pyjamas. You watched from your window to see a few neighbours crowding around the house with phones and then Makoto, who broke through the door which was fragile and burning down. Without a second thought you ran outside, feeling the cold rain soak through your clothes. You saw as a few familiar faces of neighbours as they called a fire station.

What seemed like hours, a family of a mother, father,  young daughter and a snow white kitten ran out of the bruning building covered in scars and burnt clothes. The ambulance had already arrived, taking ahold of the victims and taking care of them.

You ran over to the middle aged man and asked him, "Sir- have you seen my husband? He ran in-"

"He woke us up," the man choked, clutching onto his arm. "He led us out..."

"Where is he?" You snapped with tears stinging your eyes.

"He was crushed by a cupboard...he told us to run..."

You looked around to see the fire station  hadn't arrived, and in a moment of pure stupidity you called out to a neighbour that, "I'm going in- tell the firemen when they arrive that Makoto and his wife are inside!" You spirinted in the burning building, soon enhaling a ridiculous amount of smoke.

"Makoto! Makoto!" You choked out avoiding flaming walls and peices of furniture,  rushing around unknown rooms. Tears flooded from your eyes when you saw it- your husband lying on the floor under wood and rubble with scars and burnt clothes.

"Makoto!" You screamed,  sitting on the floor to face your husband. His eyes were shut and you lightly shook his shoulder, waking him.

"(Name)?!" His eyes widened as he began to panic. "What the hell are you doing? Get out of here, get out! He spat.

"No, not without you, Makoto. Let's get out of here..." You cried, smiling as you stroked his face. Every breath you took made you weaker, thick smoke swimming in your lungs.

"There's no time, my body is crushed!" Makoto whimpered, tearing up as he realised his fate.

"Someone will come," You coughed.

"Leave while you can," Makoto snapped agressively.

"Makoto- no! I need to tell you something... I'm pregnant!" You screamed into his face that was filled with a mixed emotions of joy, fear, and pain.

"Leave," He growled with a hoarse voice.

"I'm not leaving without you!"

"How could you be so selfish and not even give our child a life?" He reached his hand out, and you grabbed it, squeezing it gently.

"They need a father! We can get out..." Tears leaked from your eyes as Makoto pulled your hand to his lips and shaklily kissed it.

"Go now," He cooed as his time grew near. You body fell to the floor you were too weak the move your body. You laid next to your husband with your small hands in his own as he stared into your (Eye Colour) eyes.

"I'm sorry," You sobbed, regretting not waiting for a fireman to save your husband than risking your life with the chance of no one knowing you're even in here.

"(Name)..." Makoto cried,  pulling you into his chest. "My sweet (Name), I love you so much..." He kissed your forehead with his last strength. You buried your face into his chest as he buried his into you shoudler a hand on your stomach.

"We will make great parents in heaven," You smiled.

Short minutes later firemen broke in, dragging each body and taking them to the ambulance. Both you and Makoto's bodies had enhaled a toxic amount of smoke and had to be rushed to the hospital, where neither of you survived.

At the funeral you both shared it was recognized by neighbours and the victims of the burning house that Makoto had saved them by leading them out, and in result to save the snow white kitten hiding on top of the cuboard, it fell on him. The doctor you had visited also broke the news you were pregnant, causing the people who weren't already crying to sob hysterically.

The firemen said that each body was connected, with a smile as the last expression on their faces. The two bodies were buried next to each others, with more flowers on your grave, for the child that never was named.
