(This isn't a mistake, we meant to make this chapter in first person, and the others in third. :))
Acidalia's POV
One of the servants told me that Finn was in the hospital, but I couldn't register it. I was to go in the arena. I had no idea what to expect, and I wanted to see my sister again.
Servants came to wake me, but I was already up. I was searching the room for any possible thing I could use as a weapon. The only things I manage to find is a very sharp hair pin, that was about the size of my finger.
They dress me, and I lose the pin as soon as they find it tucked in my boot. I had never seen the outfit before. It was a seriously warm fleece, with a jacket over top in a shiny black material that looked water repellent. The hood was lined with fur. My pants were made of the same thing, with fur inside, and I was given heavy boots with chains on the bottom.
I can use the chains as weapons.
I am rushed towards a hover plane, and strapped inside. Too soon, we were at the excavation point. Too soon, I was being sucked upward.
The first thing I notice is the blinding brightness. I squint, and can just make out a flat plain of snow, with the golden shiny Cornucopia in the middle.
There was no hiding spots. Just a wide open plain, with a mountain in the north.
"Attention please." A voice booms in the arena. "At the top of the mountain, there is a challenge. Your task is to make it to the top alive, and beat the challenge. Two winners, one challenge. Work together, and survive. Let the Games begin!"
The awful voice starts counting down.

Should I run to the Cornucopia, or take my chances without anything?

I scan desperately for Echo. She was two spots down, and she met my eyes.

She motions towards the Cornucopia, and then glances towards the mountain. I understand what she means. She would go get something at the horn, and meet me at the mountains.

I nod, mentally preparing myself for the horrors ahead.

The cannon blows, and I run as fast as I can. I couldn't let Echo go alone, so I ran sideways until I caught up with her.
We make it to the Cornucopia, and we grab two things each. I get a backpack and a knife, and she gets a can of something and an ice pick.
We sprint towards the mountain, lungs screaming for air. Up close, it was much bigger, and it took what little breath I had left away.
Echo and I look at the side of the mountain, and I find a relatively easy path, we run up there and quickly find a small cave that we could stay in that was far off the path. Lungs burning, we sit down.
"What did you get?" Whispers Echo.
I show her the knife, and then empty the contents of my bag. A metal bottle full of water, a pack of beef jerky and a watch that was fully functional.
We both take careful sips of the water, and look inside Echo's can.
When the top of the can opened, steam billowed out, smelling of soup. We quickly closed it to preserve the heat, and smiled, even though the situation was dire.
At least we had warm soup.
