From the darkness of my room I woke to the sound of a alarm clock "shit it's 6:00 am. already" my eyes were barely open as I sat up to put my clothes on. The only thing to cross my mind was having to deal with another boring day, after preparing myself for the day to come I sat down on the couch fading from reality as I stare at the television.

Finally at 7:00 I left the house to wait for the school bus to arrive, but as I was standing at the driveway I noticed a strange black bird with four fiery red eyes on it's head, our eyes met as mine widened i thought "what in the hell is that?" I quickly ran in the opposite direction, as I was running I could hear the distorted call of the bird. Looking back I saw that it had taken flight and was then chasing after me in the air, the bird swooped down with great speed as it did so i tripped on some split wood that had been cut recently, when I fell to the ground my head hit the hard ground and I was about to lose conciousness. Before I could be knocked out I felt the birds beak drill into the palm of my hand "get away you damn bird, get the hell away!" I yelled loudly.

Moments passed by after the bird had pecked my hand and I did not feel or hear anything anymore, I opened my eyes wondering if I was dreaming, however looking around I noticed I was in my backyard. Looking around the corner of my house I spotted the bus driving down the road about to pass my house, I ran down the driveway as fast as possible to catch it, knowing that if I missed the bus my parents would be furious. Apparantly the bus driver had seen me because the bus had slowed and came to a stop as I was halfway down the driveway. Finally reaching the end of the driveway, I crossed the road and stepped up on the bus stairs and walked down the isle searching for my seat., as I walked down the isle I noticed the usual blank looks from people who barely knew me or didnt at all, once i reached my seat I sat down next to my sleeping cousin Anthony and sighed.

I looked down at my hand which I could feel a little pain in and found that there were black markings running up and down my arm coming from a black spot in the center of my palm. Hiding my arm in the sleeve of my jacket so that noone would notice I heard anthony lightly speak "oh, hey Jerry are you alright?" I answered "yes...I'm fine" from behind the seat I heard my friend Shawns voice "are you sure about that, you dont sound fine, were friends if something is wrong tell me" I responded "seriously i'm fine it's nothing for you to worry about." Although I was trying to convince them I was alright, I didnt believe myself and I dont think they did either, I had no idea if I was going to die or worse. The bus had finally reached the school and everyone stepped off the bus and I just walked on like nothing had happened, like any regular day.
