The Shadow Beings - Chapter 3: The Shadow World

Slowly after I felt the fingers touching my forehead I could begin to make out my surroundings and I could see an old man standing in front of me, although i could finally see the area was still dark "so you are the new one..." the man said "huh?, what does that mean?" I asked slowely, before I could get an answer a strange bird call filled the dark world. "What the hell is that!?" instantly the same bird that had attacked me that morning perched on the mans shoulder "this is crow, he found you" the man said cheerfully, rather annoyed I said back "yeah I know, look at what that beast did to my arm!"

For a moment after looking down at my arms i noticed they had turned grey and no mark was to be found "wait what the hell, the marks, they're gone!" the old man smiled as he said "you're beginning to transform". I could yet again feel the pain of crows beak in my hand, "ah! my hand it hurts, what is crow doing now !?" I yelled in pain "he is helping you along in your transformation, stay calm".

The pain felt more intense until final an aura of black and purple energy surrounded my body and crow flew back away from me and I breathed heavily as it disipated, i then asked "what was so special about that..what just happened?" the man stood there silently for a minute and responded "you have just transformed into a shadow being and this is the shadow world, it is another dimension in which the spirits of dead shadow beings reside." although I was still confused, i didnt ask for him to explain any further however i asked about the black spot that was on my hand and he explained "it is what we shadow beings call 'black star', it appears after your first stage of becoming a shadow being."

Looking around the area i thought to myself and finally asked "how do I get out of here, is there some sort of door I have to pass through or something?" the old man answered "it is not as simple as that, you must first open a portal or teleport, it is a difficult technique to master, if you wish to leave you must first learn it." I was discouraged to hear this but determined to leave i asked "I dont care how tough it is just tell me how" the man went on to explain, "In your state right now you must concentraite a large amount of shadow energy into your hand and make a rip in the space around you and create a portal." I thought maybe that this task would not be too hard, but after a few failed attempts I would need to go through rigorous training.
