Alya's P.O.V

I stood facing the villagers, they screamed insults at me and one threw his torch at the cabin. I reached out and drew the fire to my hand before it could make contact. I held the fire and put it out before grabbing the hilt of my sword. I wasn't just protecting Hibiki and myself anymore, I was protecting my fellow dragons and this girl. The hilt grew warm in my hand and drew it from its sheath, instead of the rusted blade I was accustomed to it shone silver as though it were brand new. I pointed the sword at the villagers.

"Leave this place now lest I show you the true power of the dragons descendants!" I shouted. Alarm filled every face in front of me but anger soon replaced it.

"YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A MONSTER!" Somebody screamed.

"AN ABOMINATION!" Another cried.

"If I am a monster, then you people are true demons," I said calmly. I raised my sword and hurled myself at the villagers cutting them down without hurting them too badly. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the other dragons and the man Hak fighting as well, the woman, Yona was shooting from the doorway while the small boy was watching from inside.

It didn't take long for the villagers to realize they had no chance of winning this fight, they retreated and I sheathed the sword turning to the group. I still hadn't told Hibiki about any of this and I wanted to ask him what to do.

"Go rest, I need to speak with Hibiki," I said and walked inside and closed the door to Hibiki's room. He was sitting up looking at me with questioning eyes.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Long story, but you and Tamara were right. My master has come and the sword has regained its radiance." I told him. A smile spread across his face.

"This is wonderful Alya, you must go with him!" He said before falling into a coughing fit. Once he calmed down I told him everything that had happened.

"The only problem is I can't just leave you," I said as I finished. A sad look crossed his face.

"Alya, I have been ready to pass on for a while now. I have stayed because I couldn't leave you by yourself. You need to go with your master and your brothers and me... I will see Tamara again." He said. It was hard to understand what he was saying, all this time I stayed close by for Hibiki but he was fighting death so I wouldn't be alone..... Tears streamed down my face and I threw my arms around him and he rubbed my back soothingly.

"Don't cry Alya, Tamara and I will both always be with you. But you must join a new family now. I love you." He said. I kept my arms around him as I felt his heart slow and finally he was with Tamara again. I walked out of the room to see the group was in a heated discussion, it ended abruptly when Yona looked at me.

"Are you alright?" She asked.

"Can you help me dig a grave?"

To live in the hearts of those we love is to never die but to start a new.

I stared at the rough headstone marking the place Hibiki was buried right next to Tamara. I placed some wildflowers between their graves and turned away.

"I'm ready, let's go," I said. There was no doubt in my mind that the villagers would return, they would destroy all evidence that the purple dragon ever existed there but one day I would return. I would find the next purple dragon and I would give her a worthwhile life. Like Tamara and Hibiki gave me.

"Why don't you take that mask off?" Yun asked. I turned to him as Yona elbowed him.

"Ow! What? We were all wondering it." He said defensively. I slipped my mask off and shook my hair back so they could see my face.

"My mother did this to me when I was a little girl, I keep my face covered so the villagers can't see it and be smug about it," I said. I was surprised at the rage that seemed to envelop the group.

"How dare they, to hurt a noble descendant of a dragon like that. They should be grateful I don't go down there and...."

"Gija!" Yona shouted.

"It doesn't matter. The woman who did this is dead so there is nobody to take revenge on. I don't want it anyway. Tamara raised me as her own daughter so those people haven't been important to me in years. And they will never be again." I said. For the first time in years, I was tempted to look into the minds of my fellow dragons and see what they were thinking, especially Shin-ah, with the mask on I couldn't read what his face was saying. I wanted to comfort him and reassure him that his powers weren't a curse, that he didn't have to cover his eyes.

"So Yona, where do we go from here?" Yun asked.

"We are going North into the mountains. To the original home of the dragons."
