Pov~ Anna
I heard Makiya say one thing before I felt panicked. I tried to ask her why but then got an uneasy feeling and ran to her house calling the ambulance. I ran as fast as my legs could take me. I felt numbing pain as I broke Makiya's door down and ran upstairs. The smell of iron hanging in the air, "blood." I whispered to myself as my stomach turned uneasily.
As I stopped seeing Makiya's body on the ground I fell to my knees. I felt pain, "M-Makiya?" My voice shook as I tried to get closer. I noticed blood running out from her chest as I felt a guilty feeling. This wouldn't have happened if I didn't take her back.
Her body looked worse and her skin was bad. As I went to see how I could help I noticed some people running in and to Makiya. As I felt a bit anger building up in me two of them pushed me out of the way. I wanted to scream at them but they were trying to help her. My body was shaking out of the shock of what I've seen. Who has done this to her, my own 'sister' my friend.
I got up and walked to the front yard and punched the wall. All my injuries that I had and the scars that have stained my skin will be all for nothing. I wished to protect my best friend. My heart was cringing as I thought only of the worst. As they took my friend into the ambulance I got in back and looked at Makiya.
Hours have past as Makiya layes now in the hospital bed. My worst nightmares were rushing through my brain as I watched the monitor. A song ran through my head, one of Makiya's favorite songs. (The one above) my eyes didn't move from watching the lines on the monitor move up and down showing her heart beat. I felt happy she was still alive but I felt angry as I wished to find out who did this.
I sat next to her bed with my hand holding hers. I squished her hand softly in mine waiting for a response that I felt that would never come. Hours has passed, wait was it days? I lost track as I felt tired and a bit hungry but pushed that feeling away. If she dies I will, I don't want her to go.
I felt my warm tears run down my cheeks making my face warm then cold. I didn't move wishing, hoping for her to get up like she was fine. My parents would come and try to take me home but I scowled them and they left. Makiya's mom hasn't come at all and hasn't called. She never did care, wait she didn't care.
Where was she when Makiya was shot? She didn't like Makiya because Makiya was gonna get her place in the business and she didn't like that! Was she the one that called the ninjas was she the one that shot Makiya!?! I felt anger boil my blood as I looked Makiya. I now have lost track of everything and I don't know when I last ate or slept.
The medical staff tried to get me food and have me go home or rest but I. Just. Couldn't. If you were me, you wouldn't leave... Right? I wouldn't leave just incase she woke up. I wanted to be the first face she saw when she awakes from her coma or whatever. I started to see things, I think they are shadows. I also have been hearing voices strangely.
It got so bad the nurse had to come in and shoot some strange substance in my arm causing me to black out. I soon woke up feeling a worm touch and jilted awake to see my parents and some food. I looked around and saw I was still in the hospital by Makiya's bed and signed. "Anna do you think Makiya would want you to be like this? Not eating or sleeping. Do you think-" I snapped at her as I looked into my mothers eyes.
"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THIS IS MOM! THE PAIN I FEEL, THE FEELING OF HOPING SHE WILL WAKE UP WITH THE SMILE SHE ALWAYS DOES! JUST HOPING THAT SHE WILL BE ALRIGHT AND HUG ME AND TO PROTECT ME. AND A-and just to help me with school." My voice lowered as tears ran down my cheek. I protect her and she protects me back... That's how this goes.
My mom didn't get angry or anything she just hugged me. My father did the same as I felt my heart melt. I wanted Makiya to get up. I haven't noticed any day changes or anything. My stomach roared anger lay at me to eat as I noticed the food.
My mom handed me the food and I sadly ate it. My mom was smart but I was smarter. I knew Makiya wouldn't like the shape I was in and she wouldn't like how I didn't take care of myself. I finished the food and looked at Makiya my heart filled with hope and determination. Who ever did this to her would pay and with their life.
I closed my eyes starting to fall asleep when I heard movement and opened my eyes looking at Makiya. She turned to me and had her eyes start to open sleepily. She smiled as I felt a smile on my face. Once she regained full sight I saw her smile shift into a worried frown. "Anna, how long was I out, why haven't you been taking care of yourself?" I sighed and didn't care anymore as I hugged her carefully, I want to be safe again, and now I am.

Pov~ Makiya
I looked at Anna, her eyes had bags under them and she has lost a lot of weight. I hugged her back as I felt her tears on my shoulder. I felt a slight pain and let out a wincing noise and she noticed letting go and looked at me. "You have been out for probably for a week. I couldn't sleep or eat because I was waiting for you to get up. I didn't drink and nearly passed out and the doctors had to put an iv in my arm or something."
"It seems you have no medical smarts." (A/N Sentypower does actually...) I smiled slightly with a smug tint in it. Anna giggled and shook her head and rubbed my head. "Anyway, you know I don't like seeing you like this but I'm happy you stayed with me." Anna nodded to my words and got up getting me food I think.
Once she came back I ate as she told me about when I was healing and how she was tortured and as they tried to get her to tell her where I am. I felt bad as I finished eating and drank most of my juice and water. "Do you know who did this to you Makiya?" I nearly chocked and looked at Anna with some juice dripping down my mouth from almost spitting it all out. I closed my eyes and swallowed the liquid that was in my mouth and nodded.
