A Short Gay Story

"Hey," Jacob said as soon as I saw him.

"Hey. Wanna get this done and over with?"

"Yeah, there's actually something I think we should talk about."

"Okay. And what is that?"

He paused and looked down at his hands as we were seated. I frowned.

"I don't think you and I will work out."

I have two feelings right now. Happy and hurt. Happy because I can be with Zach. The one I think I actually like. The one I lost my virginity to. You know? We have that connection. Hurt because he's the one doing this. I'm supposed to be doing that part, but it's done with now.

"Uhm, okay."

"I'm sorry. Don't get me wrong," he started. "I'm attracted to you, but I think there's another guy."

"Oh?" I say.

"He goes to my school."

I sighed. "Oh. Cool. What's his name?"

Jacob opened his mouth to answer, but a waitress came over and said, "Hello. My name is Katie, I'll be your waitress tonight. Can I start you off with a drink?"

I look at Jacob and he nodded.

"I'll have a Coke."

"I'll have a Dr. Pepper."

She nodded her head and walked away. I trained my eyes back on Jacob.

"So. . ." I trail off. "This guy?"

"Oh. He's a year older than me, and his name is Jack."

"Tell me about this, Jack."

"Well, he's a year older, he has dark hair, but bright blue eyes. They're gorgeous. He's tall and funny. I really like him. I want to ask him out, but I don't know if I can."

"You can. How long have you known him."

"Only a few weeks."

"How much do you know about him?"

"A lot. We hang out a lot."

"Just ask him out then. Do it in a confortable spot. I mean, I didn't, but you're not me."

"Thanks," was all he said and Katie came back with our drinks.

After that, she took down our order and nodded her head, walked away, with in a few moments she was back.

We dug in and ate. I had fun, and we promised to keep in touch. I also found out that there was a point where he liked Jessica so he told me to take care of her.

I paid for it and walked out with him trailing. He bid me a goodbye and I was on my way to see Zach. Tell him that I want to be his and he has to be mine.

Together we'll be...
