alright, i'm gonna say this once and one time only. adding a book to your reading list is visible to the author. i get a notification every. single. time. i also look at these titles (can't promise all of them) and what i don't appreciate is some of you labeling your reading lists as "bad" or "trash". that is so rude and completely uncalled for. i'm one for having opinions, likes, and dislikes but labeling someone's work as trash is absolutely disgusting. stop the hate, and just bite your tongue next time. i hope your pillow is warm on both sides for the rest of your life.
"Jessica!" I yelled to my best friend.
She just moved here and I wanted to make sure she felt welcomed. I even made sure the counselor gave her the same classes as me.
She turned her head and her blue-ish, green-ish eyes, peirced into my dark brown ones. She smiled to me.
"Hey. I'm gonna head out for lunch. Wanna come?"
"Yeah, sure," she answered.
We walked out of the school and headed to my car. I was nervous. Really nervous.
"So," she started. "Where are we going?"
"How about McDonald's or Burger King?"
"McDonald's. It's on me."
"No. I pay."
"No, I do."
"No, me."
"Nope. I'm not backing down, Vincent."
"Fine," I huff.
We parked beside the building and walked in. She ordered a twenty piece with a medium fry and drink. I got a Big Mac and a medium fry and drink.
"How do you like it so far?"
"Hmm? Oh. It's better than my last school. Everyone seems to be okay, or happy. The teachers aren't grumpy as much, and they know how to wash clothes. I had gym earlier- oh wait, you were there, but the pinees don't smell as bad."
"Haha, yeah," I laugh.
There were people walking in and out. Then one time, someone walked in and Jessica froze. I frowned and looked behind me.
"What?"
"Jacob."
"Which one?"
"That one," she points to a tall guy with light brown hair and tan skin. He had a camouflage sweatshirt on with a pair of jeans, and boots.
He turned just to explore the place with his beautiful green eyes. He saw Jessica and smiled. Next thing I knew, he was standing right there.
Man, he's hot, I think.
"Hey," he says.
"Hi," says Jessica, breathlessly.
"What are you doing here?"
"Eating out with a friend. We have lunch," she said and points to me.
"Oh yeah? Cool. We had an early release. Something went off and put the smoke detectors on a high drive. It was weird," the guy squints.
"So, who's the friend?" Jacob asked after a few moments.
"Oh! This is Vincent. Vincent this is Jacob."
"Hello," I stick my hand for him to shake it.
"Hi," he smiles.
Hot damn, I thought as I felt the sparks travel up my arm and to my spine, causing me shiver.
"So," Jessica starts. "I think we better head out, Vincent. Um, here's my number Jake. Text me whenever. My phone is always on."
With that, we walked out of the fast food place and into my car. All that was on my mind was the fact, I thought Jacob was pretty cute and the sparks I felt when we shook hands.
