I slept through the night with no nightmares, which was a good sign. At fourteen I began lucid dreaming successfully every night, but the sweet dreams quickly turned to realistic nightmares and terrifying sleep paralysis. This accompanied my anxiety and I often woke in the middle of the night sobbing from fear. Days were hard back then. We never had a home for longer than a year, my father was in jail, Mama was on drugs. Sometimes I blamed my daddy for that, other times I blamed myself.

We're doing so good now. Why was it back?

After taking my shower and applying my make up, I put my hair in tight small braids and flat ironed them. I put on my under clothes and went to my mom, who was ironing my black shawl.

"Hey India," she said, giving me a kiss on the cheek with her eyes still on the pants.

"Good morning Mama." I said as I grabbed the long black dress I had put out. I made sure my black bra wasn't showing through the dress. I was glad my breast stopped growing at double C's and didn't keep going.

Mama handed me my shawl and I slipped it on before the warmth left it. The heat sent a chill down my spine, which felt really good. The sleeves went to the middle of my palms, but I didn't mind. I slipped on my six inch black heels. I looked at my small Apple watch and it read 3:36. Great, I have time.

I carefully walk downstairs to find my sister making chicken and cheese taquitos with pancakes. I wanted to slap the hell out of her right there. Who makes taquitos for breakfast?

"What the hell is this?" I asked, looking at her like she was stupid, which she might be. She didn't answer, she just grabbed a taquito and crunched right into it. I rolled my eyes and took a box of toaster strudels from the freezer. I eyed them, counting how many there were. Four. Hmm, Mama doesn't eat them anyway.

After I finished eating ever so slowly, I went and scrubbed my teeth with Colgate and baking soda to whiten them. My left tooth right next to the front two was pushed back a little, and though it wasn't too bad, I was insecure about it. I dumped a mouthful of Listerine in my mouth, and though it burned, I left it in for some time.

I flat ironed the braids in my hair again before taking them down, leaving a crinkly mane of hair. Perfect. Before I spit everything in my mouth all over the mirror, I gently let it trickle out of my mouth and into the sink. My watch read 3:58 pm.

"India!" Jenae yelled from downstairs. I had just sat in front of my computer, so I wasn't about to move.

"What?" I yelled back.

"Don't what me." Her voice echoed as she walked up the stairs. I rolled my eyes as I began my uploading process. Ten minutes until the video is uploaded. "Mama said do you need a ride to the airport."

I twisted my chair around to face her. "Tell her yeah, and thank you."

"You welcome!" She said as she made her way to Mama's room.

"I wasn't talking about you, you prick." I muttered as I turned back towards my computer. I grabbed my laptop, my cameras, and everything I need to film and placed it in a specialized suitcase that wouldn't damage my equipment. It was four o'clock, so I had to get going.

Is this really happening? I can't believe it. I'm going to meet Daniel Skye. Daniel was two years younger than me, so I didn't have a crush on him, but he had a really beautiful voice.

"India, you ready?" My mom yelled from the front door.

"Yes!" I replied as I grabbed my suitcases, just to have Jenae stop me. She tackled me in a hug.

"Hurry back asshole." She said. I smiled and hugged her back.

"I will." I promised as she pulled away and grabbed my bags.
