A soft voice woke me up at six in the morning, which I didn't want happening. I opened one eye to look at the person who woke me up. It was Shawn. I began to groan in protest, but he cut me off before my annoyed breath was complete.

"I didn't want to be up so early either but Carter insisted that you woke up and got breakfast with him." Shawn said. "Could you just go so he won't text me again?"

"Breakfast? Jesus Christ Carter." I muttered and threw my covers off of me.

I went to Carter's room. I gently nocked on the door, and entered slowly. Carter was on his bed, fully dressed and looking at the celling with his hands behind his head. Blake lay in the other bed fast asleep and snoring lightly.

"Breakfast?" I moaned. Carter looked up and smiled at me.

"You look so cute without makeup on baby doll." Carter said.

"Oh, stop flirting." I said nonchalantly, but inside I was so confused. He said that he didn't go on dates or wanted to be in relationships, so why was he calling me these names?

"I can't give you a compliment?" He asked as he got off of his bed.

"Nope." I said, popping the p. "Anywho, I have to take a shower and... dun dun dun, put on my makeup."

"Oh no you don't. No makeup today. At least while we eat breakfast." Carter argued.

"Why because you want to destroy my foundation with ice cream again?" I asked as I rummaged through my suitcase to find an outfit. "Let's match." I said.

"Match?" Carter asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Like same clothes..."

"Ohhh." Carter said, and I laughed. "Wearing what?"

"White hoodie, black jeans and hat, and black huaraches?" I said, grabbing the items as I said them. Carter shrugged.

"That's cool." Carter said. "I always wanted to match with somebody."

After I took my shower, I changed into the white hooded crop top and black jeans, and slipped on some socks and my huaraches. I brushed out my hair and put it in a bow bun. Despite Carter not wanting me to put on makeup, I put on mascara and winged my eyeliner, but that's all. ChapStick isn't makeup, is it?

"Okay!" I whispered, not wanting to wake anyone else up. "Let's go."

Carter opened the passenger door for me to get in.

"What a gentleman." I teased. Carter rolled his eyes as he got in.

"Oh, shut up." He said as he closed his door.

"I can't compliment you?" I asked innocently.

"Oh, stop mocking me." He said, and I broke out in giggles. "And I told you no makeup." He said, examining my face.

"This is not makeup, its mascara and eyeliner." I countered. He took his hand and lifted my chin to look at me harder. I barely noticed my breathing get shallower.

My emotions have switched on me quicker than a viper's bite. One moment, he's like my friend and the next I feel like I'm back in middle school around my crush. Homeschooling for high school was supposed to change all these quick feelings, but goddammit, I feel like I'm slipping more and more. Me and Carter? That's never gonna happen.

Ditch those feelings before they turn into something more and you end up hurt and rejected.
