The school day went on, it was the same thing again today, until me, Sky, Misty, and Camille went to our training after school.
"What are you gonna teach us, and how long is it going to take, because right now I'm feeling really bad because I had to quit babysitting," Sky explained, "those little brats liked me and they were sad I had to quit."
"What'd you tell them," I asked.
"I made the softball team, I can't believe they actually bought it."
"Focus," Julia said while walking backstage, "now, I'm not going to be all nice and sympathetic, you are the one's who decided to buy these, I'm going to be strict, so we can get stuff done, now, did you all bring your necklaces," we all pulled our necklaces out of our bags, "good, you guys remember things better than I thought you would, today we won't get into spells and everything. I remember yesterday, one of you asked do we have a secret base, and, in fact, we do, it requires the life element to open up, Olivia, come here and I'm going to show you how to open the gate," I walked to where Julia was standing and then stood there and waited for her to show me. "Okay, let me see your necklace," I gave her my necklace and she put it on me, "now stare right below your feet and imagine a gate opening, just trust me on this," she said, I did what she said and stood still while thinking, open, open, open, "don't close your eyes, keep them open, if they're closed they won't glow," I opened my eyes and then I saw a big, blue portal appear below my feet, I started to fall in, but Julia grabbed my arm before I fell, "good, now you just walk through like this," she said as she jumped into the portal.
"Good job," Misty and Sky exclaimed at the same time.
I looked at Camille and she said, "good job, I didn't want to say it at the same as them."
"Nice, that seems like you," I said while laughing.
"Come on guys, I don't have all day," we heard Julia yell from the portal.
After everyone else jumped in, I followed, "this place is... amazing."
"Yeah," Camille agreed with me. The place was really magical looking, it had the clearest, sparkling water, the trees were as green as can be, the wind was blowing perfectly, and the sun was as bright as it could be.
"This is where we will practice everyday, you have to open it like I showed you," Julia turned to me, "you have to be the one that opens it, no one else can."
"Okay," I said in serious tone.
"I'm not joking around," Julia said with a serious look on her face.
"Fine," I said with my arms crossed.
"Um," Sky said awkwardly, trying to break the silence, "what do we start with, anything magical?"
"No," said Julia, "we have to make sure you guys are fit enough for this first mission, so far she hasn't had any effects of the necklace, that gives us some time."
"Can we get on with this," Camille asked.
"I'm just warning you guys, this isn't a joke, if she figures out how to use her powers then," Julia went silent.
"Then what," asked Misty.
"If she figures out how to use her powers, she might destroy life on Earth."
"Oh," I said.
"But how are we supposed to know who to stop if you won't tell us who bought the necklace," Sky asked.
"I was told, by my mom, that you guys need a little challenge, and the rulebook states that the Elemental Heroes have to be able to find the element of darkness on their own."
"This is stupid," Sky complained, "I'd rather be babysitting right now."
"This isn't looking up for you guys, we haven't even started your actual training, and you guys are already complaining," Julia yelled at us, making us feel bad. "Now that I have your attention, we'll start training. You guys have to get in shape, by that, I mean you guys need to work on your speed amd strength and other stuff like that."
"When will we actually start using our necklaces,"I asked.
"When I think you guys are ready, now follow me," we all followed her in silence as she lead us to a lake, "you guys are going to start by running laps around thus lake, I'll tell you when to stop, don't complain, now GO,"as she yelled that we all took off on a slow jog.
30 minutes later...
"Why... are... we... still... running," I asked Julia as I came to a stop, breathing heavily, leaning down, hands on my knees.
"Fine," Julia said, then she yelled, "everyone stop, you guys are done for today, I'm going to show Olivia how to leave here, you guys follow and watch," Julia lead us to the center, where we first came in. "You have to summon the portal somewhere in this area, that way you end up backstage, now you want to do the same thing, but think of it appearing above your head," I did as she told me because I didn't want to get yelled at again.
"Woah," I heard Camille say.
"Shh, you don't want to distract her," I heard Julia whisper to Camille.
"Sorry."
I stepped back when I lost focused, "did I do it?"
Julia stepped to where I was standing and looked up, "yeah, it's good enough, as long as we can fit through it, now lets go," Julia climbed through the portal and followed, struggling as we did so. Once we finally got through Julia said, "next time we'll have to work on some pull ups, you guya feel free to come practice here anytime, but not magic, not until I've taught you some, you guys can go home now," we watched Julia walk off and we followed without saying a word.
