Chapter 9 - A friendly Advice

Ethan's POV

Horace dropped the black leather bag on the floor. "Oh thanks, you brought that bag of mine."

"Your welcome, actually I almost forgot it but Rey reminded me before she leave to school."

" You love her right?" I asked.
"Nope not really." Horace said plainly. He was pretty good at hiding his emotions. There were certain times that I pondered for the fact how I was able to get near him and eventually being his best friend. To be closer to him you need to have a tons of patience. Horace did not care of others business as long as he didn't being targeted or those who he cares most.
"Are you sure or you were just pretending not to."

" Hey come on dude why would I pretend to be in love with her. She isn't my type." Horace said.

"Seriously you can't deny that Ashton Webber." I said playfully. Cutting into his thoughts. "What a fuck Ethan Brown!"

"Relaxed bro don't take it seriously ,do you?"

I could see that Horace still deny that he was badly in love with Monterey. He's just not yet finally admit it to himself. "Okay fine let's just talk about business. Why did you call me here.?" Horace asked. "Ridge." I told him.

"And so? What is the problem with him? "Horace said sarcastically. I knew Horace and Ridge weren't in good terms ever since I became friends with him. I didn't knew what had happen between them since according to George Ridge and Horace were so close to each other when they were kids, and if you look at them they were like a siblings but not. After all I find it difficult to understand. I sighed.

"Nothing at all, but look Ridge is here." Horace didn't pay much more attention on what I've been talking about. He needs to be warned about it. Ridge was the ex - boyfriend of Monterey. I knew for sure that he has a knowledge since his the one who force me to get that girl out there. I ushered him to the bar counter. Sit here! His forehead creased with annoyance. We talk like that for a several minutes, when I felt his emotions flared up. I leaned on the bar counter and gave him a glass of wine to better change the mood . "Here take this." He refused it instead he stand on his feet and walk to my mini gym. "Can I use this for a while?" He asked. "Yeah sure why not, I can accompany you there."

" I don't mind as long as you shut your mouth."

" Hahahaha....... "I laugh out loud. "Don't lie to me Horace I knew it bothers you right. Did you asked her for a date. "

"I didn't, why would I do that. "

"Seriously dude your so slow. Rey is an amazing woman, if you don't take her seriously somebody will take her away from you."

" I'll Cut that crap out of yours. Don't call her Rey, its annoying. "

"What annoying! C'mon she wasn't yours.." I knew I almost hit Horace but I need to do this so that he would wake up and pursue Monterey. Honestly I like her for being candid in her own way. And I dont want to allow that to happen if Ridge will interfere between Horace and Monterey's relationship.

An hour past when Horace and I strode out from my mini gym . After pushing him to his limit to not getting annoyed by me. I did try myself not to , but I couldn't do it. "Horace this will be the last time I warning you. Don't hold back. To love is not bad. Don't be scared because it is not dangerous as long as you know how to handle your relationship." He flinch. "Stop it, I'm sick of it okay. I just want to finished the marriage that my father put in." I scratched the back of my head. "Fine, if that is what you want." He didn't say any thing, indeed he move to the bar counter and grab his phone. I followed him there and peek at his back . There was a message appear on the screen.

"I couldn't go home tonight, My friends invited me to a party. Don't try to find me because I'll be fine thanks and take care."

I nudge his back with my elbow. "What was that a sign of independents? Mind you my friend Rey wasn't a kind of woman to be under control by anyone. Ha ha ha ha, were you okay with that?"

"I have no ill intentions on her so I really don't care of her life. She has a freedom to do what she want to. And by the way thank you so much for your concerns I will take that as a good advice and I have to go." Horace said as he walk to his car. I chuckled, "your such a fool Horace just admit it to yourself that you like her and confessed now." Horace rolled up his window and signaled. "He was such a heartless man." I murmured.
