Chapter 7: Back on the road

As we were driving, we see a sign with an infected eating someone next to it. The sign reads: Leaving New Mexico, hope you enjoyed. We keep driving, i couldn't help but to think about those survivors who died. We keep driving and after a while we stop at another gas station. This time we weren't hungry but we got drinks and food anyway. We kept driving and after a while, it got dark so we decided to sleep in our cars. The next morning, we had infected all around us. We drove off and ran a few over. Soon we passed a sign with a crashed plane behind it. The sign said: "Welcome to Arizona, the home of the grand canyon". We stopped at another hotel and found three more survivors. I skipped dinner and went to bed. Late in the night, i heard struggling and groaning. I walked into the room where the sound was coming from and seen one of the survivors being eaten. It was Patrick. I shot the infected in the head and ran over to him. "No,no,no. This can't be happening." He grabbed my arm and said "you were always a true and loyal friend. Th-thank you". After that he closed his eyes and stopped talking. I couldn't stop crying. I just lost my friend. The next day. I woke up to a shaking feeling. It was mary. "Get up, we need to leave. The next state is our evac." I got up quickly and put on my clothes. I grabbed my friend's watch to have something to keep as a reminder of him. I got in the car but it wouldn't start. I got out and checked the hood. It was overheated. I got in my friend's car and drove up to the curb. "You coming?" I asked mary. She shook her and nodded.
Chapter 8: Evacuation
She got in the car and stared out the window. We drove three miles before we seen the leaving sign. We drove 10 miles before we seen a sign that said: "now entering California" finally, we're here now all we have to do is find the football stadium that has the evac center. We kept driving until we seen a big football stadium. That must be it. There were towers holding soldiers with gates beside them. When they seen us, they started firing at the infected to make room. They opened the gates and we drove in. We got out and found a lot of other survivors and soldiers. We could see the helicopter from here. We walked towards it and got in. They began to take off but then the wall broke down and the infected flooded the evac. I seen people getting tackled and eatened and some got surrounded or cornered. It was a sad sight but I'm glad we're
