Chapter 16

Night Owl's POV

I gasped for breath as I opened my eyes. I looked to see I still had my mask on. But I was strapped onto a wall. The floor black and white tiles. The roof a glittering beige. Next to me was Del who was still unconscious. I struggled but it seemed like thorns held me down. Shadow's thorns. 

"Ah your awake!" I looked to see Laughter

He sat in a green chair a blue wall behind him. He just stood there a lollipop in his hand. I glared at him and struggled more trying to break the chains.

"Night Owl let's say you woke up about the right time!" He giggled

I heard Del wake up. He looked at me his eyes wide. I looked back at Laughter.

"Well you both are!" He giggled

"What are you doing!" I growled

"Oh to watch my favorite show Betrayal!" He laughed

Just then the wall behind him seemed to disappear. I stopped struggling. It was Shadow. Her eyes weren't red nor (E/C). But black. Pitch. Black. Her mask seemed to glow. I looked into her eyes and saw death. Cries of pain. Agony.

"Shadow?" I asked

She stood forward and her army stood there howling there eyes pitch black as well. All of them weren't the people I saw. The person I loved.

"Ah look who has lived up to her name!" Laughter cheered

"What do you mean!" Del hissed

Laughter faked gasped

"She didn't tell you!" He laughed

"What!" I spat at him.

"Haven't you noticed everything bad are named after her army there demons! The workers of Satan himself! But one thing was missing one single demon that we experience every night! The one who mostly stands side by side with fear!" He said standing up now.

I sat there thinking then it hit me.

"Nightmares" I mumbled

"Yes correct!" He laughed "your precious friend all along was the most worthy friend of the devil who scare children causes them to wake in the morning crying! She is the demon of Nightmares and you didn't know!" 

"No she's good!" I yelled

"Or is she! You see I had a deal with the man himself. He owed me one and I said I wanted to lead his army that he let go! Well look was has happened to them now!" He laughed

I looked at them they all where living up to there names. Fear eyes seemed to scare everyone. Envy seemed to show every person wanting something. Suffering was as well. Even Shadow. I looked at her saw my fears my nightmares. She roared her roar seemed to echo with cries of fear or children crying. 

"The man let something like this army go! And I'm taking them back to fame!" He laughed

Everything seemed to fall even the floor. Now we where strapped to a wall of a building. The view of our city in front of us.

"Demons use your powers bring back what he left be who you truly are!" Laughter laughed

They all seemed to scream agony, pain, sadness, suffering, fear, and nightmares filling the air. They roared at once probably giving the worse pain to everyone. Just then Dragons roared and dove down. Now they where diffrent. They still looked kinda like toothless but now there wings seemed to be ripped. There eyes filled with nightmares of everyone. There scales reflecting every nightmare to you. There eyes glowed so brightly like the sun. The roared as well. I stood there for some reason feeling weak.

"Nightmare take your friends destroy this city out of my sight please!" Laughter said

"Yes Master!" Her voice. 

Her voice was a hiss that seemed to come out of a snake a monster. Not the bubbly and cheerful voice I loved to hear. A voice that would cause anyone to scream in fear. A voice that can make children cry. She roared once again and jumped off the building to a new one. Thorns grabbed a building people inside yelling in fear. She laughed and threw it to the floor. This wasn't her. This couldn't be. Police evacuated the place. She threw cars around like toys. Laughter was lying this wasn't her. She roared. She started me in the eye and hissed. She jumped building to building roaring and destroying. I looked at Del who screamed at her that this wasn't her and she needed to stop. She only looked at us. I felt weak at the amount of power she had. Someone had to stop her someone.

(A different ???? POV)

"Hurry they started attacking get the troops where are here to help humans get every one rounded up!" I yelled

"Yes sir we will some spirits have left the heavens already sir" 

"Hope just call me Dreams for now" I smirked my white wings spreading wide as they shone. 

I dived through the clouds. The wind touching my face. It was time to end the wrath of this crazy man. He has turned our frenamies against us. I saw Nightmare. I tackled her to the floor. I ain't leaving without my old friend. 

Narrator POV

Nightmare's eyes glowed blood red as she kicked Dream off. She smirked and pinned him to a wall kicking him. He barley flinched before he kicked her off and flew into the air. Nightmare chased after him her dragons following. He whistled and his came as well. They where white as snow there eyes ice blue while the others red. They roared powerfully and hers roared nightmares filling the air. Nightmare hissed and charged at him. Dream was pushed back. He pushed her causing her go hit a wall. Pain filled her giving her power. She roared and flew faster to him. She punched him but he dodged it. He tried punching her but she grabbed his fist. He turned it all the way around. Dream cried in agony and pain. He tried kicking her but his fear and weakness was giving her strength and power. He kept trying. Weakness started filling his body but he kept fighting. He tried kicking her off but he was to weak. Then the last thing came into his mind.

"I will have you regular you back. Spirits dismantle" he managed to yell.

Forgivness flew to Revenge who was struggling to get up. He seemed to disappear and Revenge turned to normal. Also Love flew to Fear and she seemed to disappear after living Revenge turning to normal. Dream smiled and he started fading in Nightmare's grip. Nightmare's eyes turn back to red. His power overwhelmed Nightmare who started falling to the floor. She hit the floor a crash filling the air. Night Owl yelled and tried getting out while Laughter raged asking. He then smirked and ran to Nightmare's body that was unconcious. Night Owl yelled crying telling her to get up. Batcoon doing the same. The demons tried to stop him  but failed. He also grabbed Sebastian and Bear who where broken and whimpering in pain. Wanting Shadow to wake up. He flew off in the helicopter only leaving heroes crying in pain and agony and demons hurt and broken on the floor. In a haunted city.

Your POV

I woke up gasping regretting what I did. I was in a cage and the door was closed. I stood up and heard whimpers in pain. I gasped to see Srbastian and Bear on the floor bleeding. There eyes filled with pain and fear. I ran over to them.

"No it's ok we will get out of here just wait" I cried

Sebastian somehow managed to crawl in my lap. He purred yet he was bleeding. Bear tried standing up but he howled in pain. I was crying now. How could he do this to  innocent animals.

"I'm sorry" I cried hugging them.

Sebastian nuzzled me and Bear licked me. Then they started fading away. I tried holding on hoping if I held on tight they couldn't go. But they did. I threw my mask to the floor. I yelled in rage and collapsed onto the cold floor. My eyes then boiled red. I now roared. I out on my mask that glowed. I broke the doors bending the metal. I growled. I shot a guard down quickly killing him. I didn't care anymore. Where ever Laughter was I would kill him. I would find for what he did to my lets. My family. I roared and everyone in the hallway faded. My eyes blood red as I shot down more guards. For what he did to the spirits.
