Author's PoV :
Sadly, Ichimatsu spoke too early as a knock was heard throughout the room. Naturally, their attention went to the closed door.
"Come in!" Akemi stated as she smoothly moved out of his grasp, a nurse of same age as them came in to do her daily checkup.
Akemi left the building without bidding the cat-loving boy a goodbye. While Ichimatsu was left speechless, his mountain of thoughts was distracted when he heard a faint giggling from the nurse.
"I see that you love her very much, are you two perhaps dating?" the nurse smiled as she was doing minor excersise for the injured boy "but of course you don't have to tell me, I'm just a nosy nurse"
"A - erm, w-were not really dating" Ichimatsu's face blushed, mumbling the last sentence " I mean, I'd love to but I decided not to tell my feelings for her... not at least when she tells me the truth about her lie"
"I see" the nurse nodded, as if she has a some sort of understanding to her patient's situation "pardon me but two of you reminds my time with my hubby".
"U-um, it may be weird but how does it feel when your husband loves you back?" Ichimatsu asked, his cheeks were flushed from the embarrassing question.
"It's hard to say since everyone has different definition of to be loved by the person you like" the nurse chuckled "but for me, I think it would be 'Blessed' or something like that, I mean it's hard to find someone who loves us for who we are. Especially in our current society"
Ichimatsu nodded, having deep thoughts about the nurse advice.
"Oh yeah, it may be a bit weird but, I know that to convey something to your partner is never easy" the nurse smiled, giving Ichimatsu a bit more advice "but it's always nice to tell your partner what you think."
The nurse smiled mischievously as she left his room with soft bang of the door. Ichimatsu was left speechless, he was now certain that the nurse was nosy and yes, she totally annoyed him. But one thing didn't leave his mind, it was as if she was a psychic.
"You guys maybe just a stranger , but right now nothing will happen if both of you both stay in that safety wall"
His mouth was left hanging down, his composure was all over the place but quickly regained. Closing his mouth, without noticing that he was clutching to his blanket.
'I need to do something and I better be quick about it.'
------Meanwhile------
Akemi have left the hospital when she accidentally bumped into a man who seemed to be a few years older than her.
"Ah, I'm sorry!" Akemi bowed as she apologize.
"N-no it's alright!" The man said "anyways, I'm a bit lost. I'm new here and I want to surprise my wife by visiting her to her workplace"
Akemi giggled of how the man's adorable action for his wife. She agreed to help him out, to her surprise, it was the hospital where Ichimatsu is staying. Akemi decided to lead the way.
"Umm, if may I ask" Akemi striked up for a conversation "have you guys been ever in a fight or something?"
"Of course" the man giggled "many times, I believe it's healthy in a relationship to fight once in a while"
"I see..." Akemi looked up at the blue sky, silently thinking to herself.
"You looked troubled" The man asked worriedly "did you and your boyfriend fought or got into an argument?"
"N-no, we're not dating" Akemi sighed "I wish we were dating, but there's part of me that doesn't want to"
"So is it some kind of unrequited love?" the man asked, his curiosity grew.
"Probably, I mean he's inlove with my best friend" she forced to smile without realizing tears were starting to flow "since he even asked me for tips"
The man started to panick and decided to drag her crying escort to a nearby bench, he then went to the vendong machine to get the girl some water to calm herself.
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this" Akemi could barely spoke since she's still crying "especially when you're wife is waiting for you"
"It's alright" the man sat next to Akemi and he stared at the sky "but oh man,this feels like deja vù!"
"Deja vù?" Akemi asked, a bit confused since he never met the man before.
"Ah, I'm sorry. It's just that it remind me of my past" the man chuckled, reminiscing his past "you see, it was this very place and event that happened to me. Except I was crying my balls out and I dragged a stranger to calm me down"
"If you don't mind me asking, why were you crying?" Akane asked.
"It was simple, because I was afraid and ran away"
"Afraid?"
"Yes, I was afraid to face my problem in life that I ran away" The man slightly gripped his own bottle " I thought that was the only option, to ran away my problem but I missed the bigger picture"
"What was the bigger picture? "
"That's a secret"
"B-but!-"
"I'm sorry, I can't tell you the answer. We human beings see things differently and the answer doesn't always comes that easily" The man stood up, gesturing like he came of from a noble family "I want you to look for a formula for your answers. Now that you calmed down, shall we go?"
"Um, one more question!" Akem slightly raised her voice "how can I see the bigger picture?"
The man smirked, he knew that she would asked her that question. He giggled a bit and answered
"You just need to stop running and take a good look of what picture you are looking at"
At those last word, the two arrived at the front gates of the hospital. The two separated their way, but this time, Akemi had determine look on his eyes.
Maybe a little push was need for the two of them, in that moment something inside her change.
Perhaps all she needed was to stop running away?
