I'm moving at a frantic pace, looking for something nice to wear, but not too nice that I'll get it dirty, because who knows! I could trip in a mud puddle for all I know!I settled on a pink frilly tank top and a red floral print cardigan along with white Capri shorts, I looked, uh, decent in the least. I check on the box of the kittens because with them, I can never tell.
I head out to the Japanese city, the bright lights and cheerful atmosphere was so amazing but I regretted not having one my best friends by my side; Camera.
I walked half the way to the Lucky Cat Café, though my feet were uber sore I broke into a sprint to get there asap. To what awaited me was very surprising.
I saw Jack standing there outside the café, in his red hoodie and navy blue jeans, listening to music from his jet black headphones. Now I felt ridiculous wearing something so NOT casual, unlike him.
I quickly throw the cardigan in my purse, so it doesn't look too bad. As I walk towards him, he looks up at me, eyes filled with happy. "You came!" He exclaimed, some people started to look at him, but then continue walking on.
"Yeah, sorry I'm overdressed I didn't know what to wear." I say shyly. He looks around, I can't tell what he's looking for. "It's okay, it happens." He replied. I ask him where Kio-Chan is.
"Don't know, but she's late," He cooly answered my question. I nod as I see him look at his phone, looking for new texts, and then... Ba-ding! He gets a text.
"She can't make it..." He muttered. "Oh! Um, are we going to leave or..." My words trailed off slowly. "No! It's fine, wanna go try that new restaurant down the street?" He suggested. I nodded wordlessly and we started in the direction of the restaurant.
We walked into the red and gold decorated restaurant. "It looks amazing here!" I say in awe. "Yeah, my parents own the place and I work part-time here." He replied.
"Cool!" I say, and a woman walks up to us. "Welcome to GoldenWings Japanese restaurant." She said and bowed. "May I show you your table?" She asked, and we nodded.
We're led to a beautifully decorated table and we sit. My eyes are still impressed by this restaurant. I don't have much of an appetite so I settle on some plain white rice.
... Typical me. "I'll have sushi, please." Jack responded to the waitress politely and she started heading to the back.
It was pretty quiet, with soft music playing in the background. I think about getting Bubble tea, I've had it, it's pretty good.
But then it was at that moment I remembered I was technically broke, I think Jack was reading my mind because; "Hey, food's on me." He smiled warmly.
I sit there. Looking like a utter idiot. "Food's not on you! otherwise I would see piles of rice cakes on you head and I don't see them! Hehehehehehehheheh...." I've become the true awkward dork I am.
Jack just chuckled, but then laughed a little. "Heh, yeah." He laughed, even though that was just my inner awkward speaking.
Many moments went by, of just blank silence, well, silence with music in the background, BUT STILL! "So uh, eheheh, the arcade is open, maybe we could stop by after dinner?" I asked, but my voice sounds a little off as I spoke.
Jack replied with a simple nod of his head, his silky black hair shined in the light emitting from the lantern hung above our table.
I stared blankly at the wall, and Jack stared at me, though it felt odd. He smiled, he's really cute, and by cute I mean reeeeeeally cute.
Our orders came eventually, my mouth was full and he told a really funny joke, the rice I ordered almost spilled out of my mouth!
We finished eating and left for the arcade, we had fun when we got there. "Snacks?" He offered some cotton candy to me and I smiled and nodded.
We shared tons of laughs, "My ex still misses me... But her aim is getting better!" He joked and I couldn't help but laugh.
He attempted to win a small stuffed panda for me from a claw machine, but he lost and decided to use his won tickets wisely and bought me a GIANT panda with some of his well earned tickets.
It felt uh, 'not so awkward' anymore, and we just acted like nothing really happened, not like boyfriend and girlfriend, but really close friends.
It's hard to act normal around your crush for most, but not me, I had fun like nothing was between us, is this... Really love?
