I struggled to open my apartment door, I kept trying to get the key in, while holding a box of kittens. "Awwww!" Kio-Chan cooed over the litter of kittens. She slowly squinted at the box.
"Free kittens?" She asked me as I nodded.
You could almost see the hearts and stars in her eyes as she stared at a long haired, brown tabby with gorgeous amber eyes. The little kitten put her fore paws on the edge of the box as her scrawny hind legs tried to crawl out of the flimsy cardboard box. "Can I keep it?" She whispered as the little fur ball Mewed at her. "Um, I don't know, they seem to be too young to be going to owners, I'm just keeping them until they are at least six months old."
"Okay..." Sadness clouded Kio's eyes.
"Um, maybe you could keep it, growing connections with owners should start early." A poker face stretch across my head. The cloudy eyes instantly were replaced with eyes sparkling in anticipation. "Really?!" She exclaimed. "Really." I assured her as she started doing a little happy dance.
"Thank yoooou!" She exclaimed as she scooped up the fluffpuff. "Your name shall be Purridot!" She cooed as she cuddled with it.
Turns out Kio is obsessed over this TV show called Steven Universe, I can't really believe I didn't notice, mainly because she was always wearing something with either the words Steven Universe, or had cookie cat on it.
"I just can't thank you enough!" Kio exclaimed. "I'm glad you like your 'Purridot' Kio-Chan." I calmly replied.Fur was shedding on Kio's red tee-shirt with a star on it that said 'Steven Universe!'
"Well then." Kio whispered amused as she flicked the fur off her shirt. Purridot started kneading at her bust. Kio started blushing, just a little."Um, maybe I should get going..." She mumbled as her face turned even darker red. "Okay." I called as she started off down the hall, to her apartment. And I continued to struggle to open the door. So I put the box down to open my door, for five seconds. But then, they were gone when I looked back.
"I turn away for five seconds!" I said under my breath as I frantically chased after the fluff balls as they scurried away from me. "Do you need help!?" I heard a familiar voice from down the hall, I looked back and saw a man who lives a couple of apartments down from me.
His hair was black, and his skin was pale, and he has beautiful green eyes. "Help would be very appreciated!" I yelped helplessly as a kitten squirmed in my arms. The man bolted after a tortoiseshell kitten.
"I got one, Alexis!"
"Thank Jack! Just two left!" I gasped for my breath as I slid under a table and nabbed a black cat with yellow gleaming eyes filled with mischief."Got it!" I exclaimed as Jack got the other.
"Thanks for the help Jack, I really needed it." I said calmly as I walked back into my apartment with the kittens.
"It's no problem, really." He shrugged. My hoodie was coated in various colors of kitten fur. I started picking it off, but then I felt warm hands picking off the fur as well, it was Jack.
"Oh.. Um thanks, but I can get the fur off myself." I personally have a small crush on him, but it's no big deal.... Honest! Heh, but he is really, really, really, cute!
"Um okay then," he mumbled. "Before I go, I was wondering if we could go get dinner somewhere tonight." He added on. The words he just spoke stunned me. "– With Kio-Chan too, of course." He added once more.
"....Okay! Sounds great." I almost practically yelled it, but I kept my cool.
"Great! We're meeting up at Lucky Cat Café at five, Kio-Chan said she was going to come." He replied cooly."Anyway, for helping me in the kitten CATastrophe have a complimentary kitten! You can pick whichever kitten you want!"
"Oh, okay thanks, I love kittens." He thanked me as he picked up the black kitty. "Snuffles." He named his cat Snuffles, it's such a cute name! Him holding the kitten makes it almost fifty times cuter!"See you tonight!" He called as he disappeared into his apartment.
"Okay!" I walked into my apartment to get ready.A/N: Sorry this chapter isn't as long as the first, but the next one will be longer, I promise!
