You The sound of pigeons and the hustle and bustle of New York on a Monday morning woke me up bright and early. I waddled over to my kitchen and made a bowl of cereal with almond milk, and had a banana.

I only had to work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week, so I had another day off. I slid on a camo turtleneck and tan cargo short-shorts, and decided to go makeupless.

I was going to meet with Vici at 3:30, so I had lots of time to make a big deal of the situation and blow it completely out of proportion.

My friend Danny texted me and offered to meet at the humane society down the road from his place, about 20 minutes from mine. He's always talking about getting a dog, maybe he'd actually get one.

I head out of my building onto the curb and hold my arm out for a taxi. One pulled up right away.
