By the time Sheriff and I entered the door to my apartment, Vici had already texted me. We talked for a while, and agreed to meet tomorrow at a coffee house down the street. I was still looking for something to so, and I was roasting in my apartment. It was so hot outside. Vici texted me a pic of her at the pool at her apartment complex, and that gave me an idea. Why didn't I go swimming?
I grabbed my bag off of the door to the laundry room, which was right before the door to my apartment. I made my way down to the entrance of the building, and walked down a hallway to get to the door that led to the outside pool. I opened the door, and who did I see? Vici, of course.
"Hey, I didn't know you lived here!" I said enthusiastically.
"Same!" She said.
"What floor do you live on?" I asked.
"11, room 467," She explained.
"Woah, you live right down the hall from me! It's crazy I haven't seen you around," I said.
"I just moved in," Vici explained. All of a sudden I started trembling. I didn't want her here. I knew it would be so easy to ruin a friendship if we even got the chance to form one.
"I've gotta go, I forgot about my doctor's appointment," I lied, and quickly exited the pool.
Why did I get so nervous? I just met her today, I have nothing to lose, and if she never wanted to talk to me again I didn't care. She just looked so beautiful in her shiny deep purple gemstone swimsuit, and I was just... me.
I could've had a bonding moment, but instead I passed it up. I knew I had to stay in my room for a couple hours so she didn't see me not at my doctor's appointment that I didn't have.
I was in a mess. At least I was putting myself in the middle of one.
