Chapter Two

Maple and I walked through Maple Grove,

 "so why did you finally adopt me?" I asked

"well...I was sitting in my tree when a few men walked up to it and started talking about cutting it down..." Maple said, 

"ok but that alone is not enough of an emergency to adopt me" I said, 

"wait I'm not done yet, I recognized one of the men as your father" She said. 

I sucked in a breath 

"dad" I said quietly "you saw dad?" I asked 

Maple nodded. We had stopped in front of a large maple tree, Maple, -who was now wearing a green and brown dress and had her curly red yellow and orange hair in an afro (and was obviously not a "lonely widow" but a cheerful teenager)- knocked three times on the tree's trunk, I felt myself shrinking and floating upwards at the same time. 

"are we here yet?" I asked 

"yeah we're here" Maple said 

stepping onto a platform we walked along a wooden street toward a large wooden door.

"we'll go say hi to Nū' Huàng Cây then there's someone I want you to meet" Maple said 

"is the someone a boy?" I asked 

"yes, but I'm not making you do it, Nū' Huàng Cây told me you should meet him" She said defensively, 

I sighed Nū' Huàng Cây means Tree Queen in vietnamese, but Nú' Huàng Cây herself likes to be called Nū' Nū' -I personally hate that nickname (I hate any nickname that is one word twice)- Nū' Nū' is my best friend as well as the queen of trees in Maple Grove. when we got to the wooden doors two guards stepped in front of us, 

"Nū' Huàng Cây will not see visitors today" they said 

"Red, Wood, it's me" I said smiling. 

"unless you have a crown you can't come in." Red said 

"what he said" Wood said, 

I took a small crown out of a bag I was carrying,

"i got a crown" I said 

"in you go Anonymous!" Wood said smiling.

I walked in ,Maple followed 

"since when did you have a crown?" she asked, 

"Nū'-Nū' gave it to me" I said "Nū' we're here" I added 

"did Maple finally adopt you?" she asked,

I nodded "finally" I said, 

Nū'-Nū' was wearing a red yellow and orange ballgown dress, and red gloves with yellow lace, she had red slippers, and a golden leaf crown. her hair was quite unique instead of straight or curly or wavy, it was overlapping maple leafs that were golden orange or red. there is one odd thing about Nū' Nū' though. she's fourteen. 

"So who's this kid you want me to meet?" I asked 

"his name is Birch, he's a sapling, and I was thinking since you'll live here a while you should make some friends!..." 

"no." I said cutting her off and turning my back on her, 

"Anonymous please" she said 

"no. I won't" I said -I am not a social girl at all as you can probably tell- 

"why not Stacey?" Nū' asked. I spun around so abruptly it made Maple jump,

 "you know not to call me that" I hissed 

"my bad" Nū' said but I saw a small smile, 

"i'm gone!" I said raising my hand over my head and walking toward the door. 

"wait! I'm sorry I'm sorry I didn't know you still take it that seriously!" she said desperately, I sighed and turned back to Nū' 

"if you call me Stacey one more time I'll call you Huàng your hole life" I said, she cringed 

"ok ok" she said 

"but will you please go meet Birch?" she asked 

"fine fine I'll go" I said 

"you should go wash up then!" Nū' said, we said good-bye then me and Maple left. 

"i didn't know you knew the Queen so well" Maple said, 

"i've known her longer then I've known you" I said casually, Maple didn't say anything, she just led me to a door. 

"this is your room Annie" she said, I walked in and slammed the door, when I walked back out half an hour later I was wearing a long blue dress, and purple flats, 

"do I have to wear this?" I asked -I'm not really a fancy girl- 

"you have to wear that" Maple said leading me toward the center of town, there sitting on the edge of a fountain was a tall boy, he looked up and smiled at Maple. 

"hey Maple!" he said 

"hello Birch" Maple said walking toward him, "this is Anonymous she's a bit moody right now" 

I looked at him, "hi" I said crossing my arms 

"wait your name's Anonymous?" he asked confused, 

"nope" I said 

"what is it then?" 

"why would change my name to 

"Anonymous" and then tell everyone my real one?!" I asked exasperated 

"sorry?" he said, 

I sighed just then my cell-phone rang, (the cell phone is made of leaves so it's environmentally friendly!) I answered walking away, a few minutes later I walked back to the fountain. 

"who was it?" Maple asked 

"Nū'. she wants me to come see her" I said 

"but she's not seeing anyone today" Birch said I smiled and took out my crown. 

"have a crown will travel" I said 

"oh um me and my friends are going to eat dinner later want to come?" Birch asked 

"um sure" I said, then I walked off toward Nū's room.
