Chapter Five

Hello it's Birch, since Ann was unconscious for this part of the story, I'll tell it.

So she collapsed...I was quite surprised by this at first, but then I was like a cheetah, lightning fast! the doctor wasn't there, and all the nurses were busy. I looked up and saw a phone, I reached for it, but it was just out of grasp. I tried again, and this time I grabbed it, but nearly dropped it, because of a shot of pain flowing through my body. I took the phone and dialed 7-7-7, the desk number

"hello?" the lady at the other end said

"I need a doctor, or a nurse, or something!" I said

"we'll send Dr. Cedar over" the lady said

"thank you" I said then I hung up.

Ok, now I need to tell you, that the nurse that showed up when my old doctor was trying to kill me, was the top nurse Nurse Cedar. So when the doctor was fired, she took his place.

A few minutes later Dr. Cedar came in

"oh my!" she said when she saw Ann. She rushed over to her, and listened for a heartbeat.

"Nothing" she said,

I thought for a second, then I had an idea.

"I need to get down off the bed" I said.

So with the help of Cedar, and two nurses, I got down next to Ann. Then I took her hand, and made her finger tips touch her forehead, her lips, and her heart. Then I reached her hand up to the ceiling, and with the little strength I had left I pushed down on her chest. She let out a puff of air, but that air was warm, like summer air. It blew around us, and then disappeared. I looked at her worriedly, then she opened her eyes. I blew out a sigh of relief

"thank goodness" I whispered

"Birch?" she said quietly

"yeah" I said

"look behind you!" she cried.

I turned, just in time to see a man run away, after throwing another dart, and I ducked just in time for the dart to implant its self in the wall, and not my neck. With the help of the nurses, and Cedar, I got back in bed. Ann was still lying on the floor.

"you ok?" I asked she nodded, pulled out the dart from her neck, then the one on the wall. Sitting up, she stuck them in her bag. She stood, and let out a breath. Then she hugged me, waved, and walked out the door. I stared after her, shrugged, and lay down.
