Chapter 12: That one amazing night

I don't know how they did it, but Justin and Jessica found us a really nice hotel. Two rooms, one for the boys and the other for the girls, but we just ended up passing out in one room. But i couldn't sleep like usual, so i went for a little walk. I tried to walk out quietly so i didn't wake up anyone, but Nehal isn't a sound sleeper. "Where are you going?" "i'm just going for a walk, wanna come?" "Yeah, sure, where we going?" "I have an idea, grab your swimsuit." So we went to the ocean, the one place where i can stop and think about things. "Zach, you sure we can do this?" "No, but that's what makes it fun." I gave her a grin and we started going into the ocean. I usually go out as far as i can, which is about two miles, but now, i just wanted to stay with Nehal. "It's so nice being here, with no one around, we can do what we want." After about 20 minutes of swimming, we sat on the beach. We were silent, and we just stared out at the ocean. "So are you and Jessica a thing?" Nehal asked out of the blue. It was a strange question, i never really thought about it. Sometimes we kissed, but that was really it. "To be honest, i really don't know, she has kissed me before, but that's about it. I don't think i have real feelings for her." "Good." And then she did the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me. She kissed me. Not on the cheek, or the forehead, but on the lips. It was so weird and so sudden, i didn't know what to do. "Oh my god, im so sorry, that was so stupid, why did i do that. Damnit Nehal." But i leaned in again, for some reason it felt right, i don't know why, but it did. "Wow, i wasn't expecting that as an answer." Nehal said after we stopped. "We should head back, it's getting late, the others will worry." "Yeah, you're right." There was a bit of disappointment in her voice, like she didn't want to do back. And the truth is, i didn't either.
