"Hurry!" Henry shouted over the pounding rain, I could barely see him through the thick water that pelted us.

"Maybe we should've waited at school!" I shouted to no one in particular. Henry wiped his soaked glasses before holding a notebook over his wet hair that stuck to his forehead.

"We can't now, we have to go." Matt said pushing us along.

None of us owned a car so it's not like we could drive home from school, we usually enjoyed walking together but today 'unexpected' rain came without warning.

Although I said it was going to rain multiple times they both didn't listen, they insisted on just jogging the ten minutes to Matt's house.

Every drop that hit me stung, it was as if someone was pouring buckets of water over our heads which didn't work well with me or Matt. I soon felt fatigued from the rain that pricked my skin.

My vision became foggy as we jogged the best we could in the deep mud beneath us.

I could tell Matt was getting tired from the sizzling I heard coming from him. Steam was billowing off of his skin, just like putting a camp fire out with water.

The temperature was dropping with the freezing rain drops falling in our line of vision. You couldn't look further than ten feet in front of you with the rain the disoriented our surroundings.

Mud seeped through my shoes wetting my socks and biting my toes. The charged particles were more prominent now with the clouds and swirling winds. My chest was tightening with the humid air collecting inside, I was trapped everywhere and none of the trees could protect me now.

"Watch out for the cliff!" Henry's voice echoed taking the lead.

We followed the same trail everyday that wove through the spaced trees, it was a nice shortcut to our houses but it got close to the steep cliff above the ocean currents.

I actually sorta liked the ocean spray that bit my skin, but I knew better not to get too close to the edge where you could potentially fall to your death.

The drop was about fifty feet of rugged rock, but the drop wasn't what scared me. What struck me with deep fear was the ocean that waited for you after the drop.

I held my soaked black jacket tighter around my trembling body as I sunk deeper into the mushy mud. My eyes became heavy and the thumping of my heart echoed in my head.

I opened my eyes wide. 'Concentrate' I kept telling myself pushing my body to go further. I breathed heavier taking long strides toward the outline of Henry.
