The air was shifting rapidly and the particles were becoming more charged by the second. My spidey senses were tingling.A flash of lightning illuminated Henry's living room shooting a bolt of energy through me. I was like a sponge around all the accumulated energy from the stormy weather. Another bolt flashed through the sky with roaring thunder following short after.
Unsurprisingly, the rain started tumbling to the ground hard, every drop almost suffocating me just by being three feet away from the window. I could feel Matt inching away from the walls as he felt it too.
I originally planned on staying at Henry's until five but that's when I felt the sudden change in my surroundings and I knew that I wouldn't be able to go home tonight due to the rain.
Yes, the rain makes me feel weak and vulnerable.
No I won't die from it, I can tolerate being in downpour for a certain amount of time but tonight I was really feeling the affects.
The lights flickered as another clap of thunder shook the house causing Henry to get antsy.
"So are you guys going to explain the weird burn on Elaine's arm or..." Matt asked breaking the tense silence.
I turned to Henry who gave me a look as if asking if he could tell Matt about the glowing arm incident, I nodded in response as I looked back at my burn. It was everywhere that the glowing had been and it was healing quickly.
Henry started to explain about the mysterious stranger we bumped into–literally–and the reaction my skin had to his. The experience was not like anything I'd felt before and the image of the blue eyed boy lingered in my mind. My thoughts kept drifting back to the moment my skin touched his and the feeling that it left behind, the only way I could describe it was like a soft prick of a needle but instead of it inflicting pain it spread a warmth throughout me. It was such a bipolar feeling and there was no real way of explaining it.
It felt like if my skin was touching water, but instead of feeling weak I felt..not so weak.
"Your skin started to glow?" Matt exclaimed flabbergasted. I nodded contemplating a reason why my skin would react to his in such a way.
"Well did his skin glow too?" Matt asked scooting closer to us. He was very intrigued about the whole thing. We both shrugged, I didn't look at his hands, I was a little distracted by his face. You can't blame me, he was cute!
"Then what happened to the glow, where'd it go?" He asked searching my pink arm.
"Well that's the thing, it shrunk into this dot and now it's a freckle. I've never heard of this happening, it was almost like the glow was some sort of marking." Henry explained searching his mind for anything that he could connect to this weird skin reaction.
