A Boy and His Dragon

Act I:Phase I:Childish Anarchy

I was in a house. A lodge like building.
These guys fed me all sorts of things. Porridge, berries and new types of meats. Me and Draco slept next to the nice lady.

It was morning. The lady led me downstairs, and she brushed my hair.
She felt so motherly to me, since I never really knew who my real mom was. It was a soft feeling inside.

"I never got to learn your name darling."

I smile and giggle as the brush kinda tickled.

"My name Michael. My fwiend name Draco."

She smiles more, followed by a giggle.
"Such a sweet child you are, Well my name is Kanako, and I promise that me and my brother will take care of you.."

"Hayate! Introduce yourself please!"

He came into the room, smelling of sweat.

"Yuck! Icky man smell bad!"

Hayate smiles and scoffs.
"You're one to talk little man, you stank a few days ago."

I look at his attire, a clean, basic gi with swords and a headband.

"Finished training I assume?"

Hayate smiles.
"Yeah! It was hard, but hopefully I'll master it soon..."

I look at him with a questioned face.
"Master what?"

Hayate looks at me.
"Some cool fighting moves..."

"oooooh"

My breakfast consisted of berries and a bunch of vegetables, along with some soft oatmeal too. Me and Draco dig in.
Kanako looks at me with a smile while Hayate looks at me with a rather weird look.

After breakfast, Kanako and Hayate prepare their things and me and Draco look at them in question.
Kanako turns to me.
She holds my hand as we walk outside.

"We are going to see our Master...please come with us darling."

I nod yes in excitement.

The walk in the woods smelled of flowers, and I point at all the pretty looking ones. I let go of Kanako's hand and grab a violet colored flower.

"Look! Look!"

I hand it to her, and she turns a bit red.

Hayate chuckles.

"Looks like you have quite the little man eh sis?"

Kanako smiles at me.

"It's simply beautiful.."

She places it on her hair near her bangs.

I hold her hand as we walk more, and she begins to tell me more wonderful things about the world far beyond.I wonder.. I've NEVER been this far from my home...It feels like an adventure, but I begin to think about Salem...Hoping he was okay..

"Big brother..."

Kanako looks at me as she sees the sorrow on my face.

"Who is your big brother darling?"

I look at her, and yawn ad I begin to feel weak...

"Come here darling, it's okay...you can tell us when we arrive okay?

I wake up smelling fish, and some sort of soup. Draco licks my face.

"haha! stooop!"

Kanako takes me to a big hall.

"Master, we've found a young child, and he hails from the dragon village.."

A short old man walks up to me.

"State your name young one"

"Michael..my friend name is Draco."

The old man puts hid hand on my shoulder...

"You seem promising, do you happen to know...this man?"

He shows me a picture of a knight in huge scaled armor. Next to my dad.

"That's Daddy's friend!"

The old man gasped...

"Hayate! Front up!"

"Yes master?"

"This child may be able to find them...and reunite all of us heroes..."

I look at them with a tilted head.
The old man turns to me.

"Young one, I am Shu. One of the Six who were there...tell me...do you know more of your dad's friend?"

I think for a bit.

"He was tall and scary, and had a lot of heavy metal stuffy stuff on him. I used to play with his daughter, my Friend, her named started with a J or something."

Hayate and Shu look at each other.

"This child may be our last chance..."

Shu looks at me deeply.

Kanako hugs me tightly.

"He's just a boy master...please don't consider this....besides..he needs us to take care of him. He has no home to go back to."

Shu smiles.

"Kanako..at least allow us to train him...he might be very capable if time is on our side."

Kanako cuddles me...

"Very well.."

She turns to me.

"Now darling, please..promise to be careful okay?"

I nod as she ruffles my hair gently.

Hayate takes me outside.

"Listen kiddo, it's all about our society. It's gone haywire, ever since this shadow broke out, there aren't heroes to save us anymore. Nothing but a couple of mercenaries who save people..for money. A life is a priceless gift, and shouldn't be something you take or bet on with money. That's where you come in kid..stop this anarchy, and save lives..the way it's meant to be done..."

I look at him.

"The way it's meant to be done...for free right? I can do's that!! Me and Draco will take the bad guys!"

Hayate smiles..

"I like ya kid...come on, let's get to work."
