Valery was squirming in her seat, she was excited, it was her first time she was going out in the field, if she pulled this off, she would be the youngest member of the Faaoian starship fleet in 100 years. It was an important mission too, apparently the rebels had intercepted the transmissions of a high up in the Angels' ranks detailing the transportation of a secret weapon being transported to alpha base earlier that morning. Their mission there was to stop the ship from reaching the alpha outpost and to see if they could retrieve the weapon. Valery turned to her side to look at Alex, the squad leader for the mission. He was a little old but a heck of a pilot, if anyone could stop this ship he could. "You okay Val?" he questioned, his eyes still fixated on the green light above the door to the hangar, or at least where it would be when they arrived. "Y-Yeah, i'm fine, just nervous. I've never been on this type of field work before." Valery replied, stuttering through her words "Well, don't be, if your simulation tests mean anything then you should be fine with this." The speakers around them suddenly crackled into life. "Will be arriving at the destination in 5 minutes, Please prepare for disembarkation." Alex groaned and lifted himself up off the chair he was sitting on, he walked up and stood infront of his squadron. "Okay then everyone, we're going into established enemy territory, luckily for us, it isn't heavily guarded. However, catching up to this military ship may prove to be more than a challenge and the fact that we can't use lethal force unless absolutely necessary makes it much harder on us, but i believe in you, i've seen all of you fly a ship, if we can't catch this blur then i'll be dammed if anyone else could!" Alex pep talked the group, blur was flyboy talk for a ship that's flying really fast, or someone who flies ships really fast, whichever comes first. "So, are we going to catch this weapon then?" Alex shouted at the group "Yes sir!" The group shouted back in chorus "For the rebellion!" "FOR THE REBELLION!" At that moment the doors popped open and revealed the hangar, the seat belts for everyone simultaneously popped open, sending them all out into the hangar room. Val looked around for her ship, "Number 17" she said to herself "Oh boy" she sighed as she saw who was in the next bay. Lucan was a Scepr, the greened skinned crocodile-like humanoids that are native to Faao, it's also characteristic of a Scepr to think of themselves as the most important thing in the entire universe, they even have their own word for it, Scelitism. If someone was rather up-themselves, you wouldn't say that they were narcissistic, you would say that they were Scelitisic. Val tried to sneak in to her ship without Lucan noticing, it was wishful thinking at best, as well as being hugely Scelitisic, they also had fantastic hearing, putting them on GALAXY Magazines 'Top Ten Most Annoying Races in the Universe' list. Lucan easily heard the squeaking of Val's shiny new rubber soled boots she had. "HA, you are on this mission are you then!" heckled Lucan, Val took a deep breath in, her brain said "You should just ignore him" however, in a moment of rich neurological sarcasm, her mouth ignored her brain. She span on her heels and raised an eyebrow questioningly at Lucan."What exactly do you mean by that? Are you implying that i can't fly because i'm female?" "No, I'm implying that you can't fly because you suck at flying" Lucan mocked viciously "Oh really? Well, we'll see who catches the secret weapon then." "That's a large claim for such a small girly" "You can eat my dust scale shedder" Val smirked as she turned to her ship, throwing her leg over and jumping into her cockpit, leaving Lucan to stew. Alex came up on her visor, obviously in a group call to the whole group, "Okay then, let's not waste time then! On to victory!" he said, before hitting his ship into high gear, with the rest of the squad in tail.
