Lewis was not taking this whole new universe thing seriously. As soon as he got into open space he started testing out the spaceship. He pulled back on the joystick far and the entire ship went upside down, pulling itself into a loop-dee-loop, he banked left and right quickly and fluently, he felt like this was what he was supposed to do. When he was finished buggering about with the ship he decided it might be best to get on with what Brüce had told him to do.Glancing down at the screen that he saw before, he notice that it now had something on it, Lewis could only describe it as a space GPS, he was totally wrong, but it was a nice try. It was called an extended radar location system, on the most part it was similar to a GPS, except it couldn't tell were roads were, just objects, it could also work anywhere, not just specifically where it was programmed to work in.
Lewis spent a good bit of time figuring out where he was supposed to go, before a small red blip came up on the screen. Lewis, in his ignorance of still thinking this was akin to a GPS, assumed that it was his destination, so he set his way towards it, he didn't however notice that after he looked away more red dots came up, and they were slowly moving towards him.
"What do you mean he's coming towards us 11!" Alex yelled into his microphone in confusion.
"He's coming towards us Number 1, as in flying directly towards us" said Number 11
"Do you want us to pull away?" asked Number 5, Alex contemplated this for a minute.
"No, we can do this, for all we know, the pilot's just being cocky" Alex doubted this himself, why would a pilot flying a secret weapon try to be cocky? Unless he knew he had the upper hand, in which case it wasn't cocky, it was rational.
"I have a visual, permission to engage Number 1?" Lucan could see the Blitz on the horizon
"Any visible weaponry Number 16?"
"Only the standard Blitz weaponry, it's traveling pretty fast though"
"Try and slow it down, see if you can dance around it for a bit"
"Yes sir" Lucan opened the taps on his ship and flew straight at the ship
Lewis jumped as a space ship just pulled out in front of him, he pulled away out of it's way but the ship still seemed determined to pursue him. Lewis assumed that this was one of the 'stragglers' that Brüce was talking about. He decided to get a better look at these guys. He pulled back on the stick and flew over the top of the oppressing ship, he looked down at the other guy as he was above him, he seemed to be some sort of crocodile, a humanoid crocodile, flying a star wars-esque fighter ship, with a red trim. Lewis pulled in behind the ship, now the roles had changed, at least, that was what he thought, before he looked over and saw more fighter ships to either side of him. "Well, this is a problem" he said to himself "Let's see what this ship is made of." Lewis closed his eyes and threw his ship to the left. The ship span in a spiral diagonally upwards, the wing barely clipping the top of the spaceship beside him. This was quite an unfortunate event for Lewis because, as good as missing the first ship was, it was not as good as flying into two other ships. Those of you who can do basic maths will know that having two more things to crash into means that you will have twice the chance that you will crash into them, the more advanced of you among us will know that a spinning object has more of a chance to crash into something than something that is not moving, like how when you try and stick your hand in between the blades of a moving fan, or the blades of a moving jet engine of a plane. If you do however get the chance to put your fingers in the moving jet engine of a plane, i feel that you would more likely be crushed by the plane, before you have the chance to get your hand in a jet engine.
"Holy Zod" cursed Alex, an advocate of the vir-eximius-villa religion, as he dodged out of the way of the oncoming spiralling spaceship "This pilot is an absolute idiot!"
"Either that or really smart" Val muttered to herself "Permission to pursue, Sir?"
"Permission granted 17, but if this blur pulls any more stunts like that then i want you to pull out"
"Yes sir" Val opened the taps on the engines and flew around to the still dizzying ship, it was time to show Lucan who was the real fighter pilot.
Lewis managed to pull his eyes open for a few seconds, before promptly closing them due to the fact that he was about to throw up. Lewis pulled back on the joystick in the other direction, managing to get his ship to a less sickening position, only to be met by a more intimidating visage, a small fighter pilot ship, much like his own was heading at a breakneck speed in his direction. Lewis was however, not intimidated, if anything, this made him more confident, this was the type of thing that he was trained for, a ship at about his level heading at him straight on, Lewis' hand hovered steadily over the red button. In the split second before his hand went down, his sub-concious had a thought.
There's someone in there, have you thought about the consequences?
Lewis, for the second time in a very short amount of time, ignored the psychological burden that was his sub-concious and continued to fire at the on coming ship.
Val wasn't intimidated by the searing plasma headed towards her at the time, not at all, if anything she was pleased at it, she was confident that she could dodge around the pitiful blasts at her like a ballerina might dance around the stage. Except, not like a ballerina at all, ballerinas are usually more graceful than a 10 ton space ship hurtling through the sky at unimaginable speeds, except for the Rhino-toed ballerinas of Panatuar 7. Last time the Rhino-toed Ballerinas of Panatuar 7 performed they caused 5 consecutive earthquakes, 3 tsunamis, a traffic jam and a small child in the audience to cry continuously until the performance was over, to with the attendees of the ballet, like attendees of human ballet, just tutted at the parents and judged them until one complained form their seats loud enough to try and reason with the parents of the child that was still screaming at the top of it's lungs. Val was not thinking about babies at this time, she was more focused on dodging the searing plasma soaring towards her as gracefully as possible. She moved deftly over the first, ducked below the second and twirled around the third. She smiled to herself as she did this, she knew it was pretty impressive, she smiled at the thought of the expression on Lucan's face as she deftly and easily dodged around the searing hot plasma of a secret weapon. She thought of this so much in fact that she didn't remember the first law that she learnt in fighter pilot school.
You don't fly directly at anything ever and if you do, break.
It's safe to say that she didn't break.
