Vera

Waking up to the taste of blood in my mouth, hands stuck to the wall above my head, surrounded by puddles of bloody water is not a pleasant thing to wake up to.

I tilt my head up, trying to look at my watch above me, it reads 12:50. "Oh no." I whisper, my voice a little sore. I try to use the wall behind me for support in getting up but it only made my arms sore.

Why me? Can't I just die already? Why do I have to go through this everyday?

Oh wait, because i'm the glitch.

"Think V. Think!" I whisper to myself.

I glanced at the contents on my wrist caught in the tape, my bracelet sticking out a bit at the ends. Then it clicks. Since my bracelet is sticking out I can easily break free. I twist the bracelet side to side until it's loose and with that hand I release my other hand.

My legs wobble a bit as I get up, I creep slowly towards the door of the stall, avoiding the puddles. I push the door open, checking if Kacey and her crew were there even though I know they wouldn't be. If they were there, they would have attacked me long ago because of all the noise I made.

Pace over to one of the sinks, staring at the foreign person that stood in the mirror. Dried blood at the sides of her face, cuts on her forehead and nose, her eyes filled with water and as she blinks, it trickles down the sides of her face, mixing with the blood. Still staring directly at her, I wash up my face, flinching a little when my hands brush the cuts. I take off my hoodie and toss it into the nearest trash can because it has dried blood all over it and i'm really not in the mood for Aaron's interrogations.

I walk towards the door, wiping my damp hands on my joggers and push it open. A cluster of students twist their heads towards me: the odd one out. They all mumble something so low I fail to catch it.

My vision blurs. Blur. Blur. Blur. A mixture of black and brown and nothing more. Then a familiar colour rises from the crowd and my vision focuses. Aaron sprints towards me, knocking people in his way over. I stare at him in great confusion. Is this one of his little games? He cups his arms as he grew nearer and scoops me up bridal style. What is happening?

I can feel his heart beating abnormally fast at the side of my bare arm. His face contorts into different emotions I can't read. My vision blurs once again.

He pushes us through the main entrance of the school, his pristine white car inches away. He tosses me into the back seat, landing with a thud and he mumbles a quick apology before he jumps into the drivers seat. He begins to drive with full speed.

I lean forward, resting on his seat. "What is going on!"

"They're coming Vera. They're coming for us." His grip tightens around the staring wheel causing his knuckles to turn white. "The scientist are coming."

He didn't go any further. I already know this day would come, I didn't think it would come so soon. Two years. Too soon don't you think?

He holds up a familiar device in his hand. It's the same one that made everyone go nuts earlier stupid! My inner voice spits. The hairs at the back of my neck stick up at the sight of it.

The edges of his lips twitch, forming a smirk. "And I have a plan."
