No one ever know why he always wears heavy jackets. Why he never takes it off even if it's hot out. Why does he never take his coat off, it's because Castiel Novak has wings on his back.
Castiel was born with a weird mutation. He has wings. It first started to grow when he was four. It always causes him so much pain when he has to tuck them in. He is now 18 and a senior in high school and no one but his family knows. Not even his boyfriend of three years, Dean Winchester, knows about them. It's been hard for him to keep making excuses about why he always wears his coat but some how he manages. But everyday it's been more and more difficult to hide them from Dean. Until one day.
On a cool October day, Castiel was putting his books back in his locker. Dean came up behind him and put his arms around Castiel waist.
"I was wondering if you would like to go see a movie with me today"
Castiel really wanted to go but his wings were killing him all day and just wanted to let them out.
" I'm sorry Dean but I'm not feeling very well. Maybe another time I promise to make it up to you"
"Ok" Dean said sounding worried and sad at the same time " you'll call me if you need anything, right?"
"Of course, now go and watch tv or something at home. I'll text you later"
Castiel gave him a peck on the cheek and turned to walk home.
When he arrived home he took of his coat and expanded his wings. They we're big but not to big. He went up to his room and laid down for a nap and quickly feel asleep.
While Castiel was napping, Dean felt like something wasn't right. He drove over to Castiel's house and opened the door from the emergency key under the mat. He walked in and went straight up to Castiel's room. What he saw was nothing he has ever expected. Coming out of his boyfriend's back was two black wings. They were wrapped around Castiel like a blanket. Dean walked over to his sleeping boyfriend and touched his wings. Castiel shoot up awake from being touched. He turned around and saw Dean standing there with his mouth open and his hand out. They both just stood there starring at each other.
"Is this why you never take off your cloak?" Dean asked in a soft voice.
"Yes,"Castiel said his voice cracking" I was afraid that if you saw me like thisyou would have said that I was freak and leave. Please don't leave me!" Castiel was crying his eyes out now. Dean took him into his arms and let Castiel cry. He didn't say anything until he heard his crying calm down.
"I'm not going to leave you, Cas. I understand why you didn't tell me. I love you Castiel I always will no matter what."
"Really"
"Always"
He leaned down and kissed him softly and didn't let go until breathing was absolutely necessary.
" Now come on, let's go watch a movie and eat ice cream" Dean said as he jumped off the bed and ran down stairs. Castiel giggled and followed after. The picked iron man and ate moose track ice cream. As the movie ended Cas turned to Dean and said
"I love you too Dean Winchester"
They both fell asleep on the couch with smiles on faces. That's how Gabriel found them when he came home an hour later. He was certain that he will be seeing Dean around more now.
