"This is insane! Can't we do anything to stop it?" Izzy exclaimed as they stared at the monitor that shows them Meliorn's interrogation.

"If we do, we'll get ourselves in more trouble than we already are." Alec stated.

Jace nodded slightly. "Alec's right."

Izzy looked at him incredulously. "You're on Alec's side now?"

"Of course he's on my side, we're sworn to protect each other."

"Hey! I'm not on anyone's side okay? Jace Wayland is Switzerland." Jace defended. "We have to find Valentine, and Meliorn might have some information."

Izzy rolled her eyes but then focused back on the screen when she saw Meliorn, the guards, and Thea walk into the room.

Meliorn was sat on the sofa while Thea stood across him.

"Forensics don't lie, tell me what you know about the blood in the forsaken." Thea started.

Meliorn sighed. "Have you considered that the blood in the forsaken came from our dead scouts? Scouts we sent to help you find Valentine. Why would we side with a murderer?"

"Seelies always play both sides."

"You should talk to your own people about playing sides."

"Excuse me?"

Meliorn smirked at Thea's confusion. "You have no idea what I'm talking about do you? If only shadowhunters had a better relationship with us downworlders you'd know that Valentine's daughter has the cup."

"You still think we should play this out?" Izzy said as she glared at her brothers who in turn were glaring at the screen.

"What the hell you two?!" Thea exclaimed at Alec and Jace as she pulled them aside while other shadowhunters went to look for the cup in Clary's room.

"Thea call this off now." Jace ordered.

Thea looked at them incredulously. "What? No! How could you not tell me about this? All I've been doing is to try and save you're asses and you keep this from me! Do you know how much more infuriated the Clave will be when they find out that Clary has the cup and you still hadn't surrendered it to them?!"

"It's not in her room." One of the other shadowhunters announced.

"Let's keep looking." Thea said as she led them away from her friends without a second glance.

"Jace we have to turn over the cup." Alec stated.

Jace sighed. "Alec, she's risked everything to find it."

"And we've risked everything for her." Alec argued. "It's either she turns over the cup or I'll do it myself."

Jace looked at Alec and Izzy. "I'll bring her back. But please, let Clary be the one to give the cup to the Clave we owe her that much."

"Fine." Alec gave in as he walked away to try and find Thea.

"Where are you taking him?" Izzy demanded as she, Jace, and Alec saw Thea leading the guards who were dragging Meliorn along.

"To a holding cell and then they will transport him to the silent brothers." Thea stated.

"You can't do that!" Izzy hissed.
