Once I got home, I did some research on scoliosis and was shocked at how scary it was. Some people had to have surgery and I scrolled through pictures of people with stitched backs. I started to get creeped out by all the images and information I was getting and decided to stop. I shook it off and comforted myself by thinking this would never happen to me. I closed my laptop and went to sleep.
The day had come to pick my results and I started to get really nervous and scared. As I got into the car, I caught my worried expression in the mirror. I tried to act normal and my mom held my hand as we walked into the hospital. We then went into a room where all the X-rays were printed out. The doctor led us to a room and said that he would be back in a minutes
with my results.
I could feel my hands get sweaty and my heart pounding faster and faster as I sat anxiously in the waiting room with my parents. Even my parents were holding hands and seemed nervous too. Finally, the doctor came in holding an X-ray and sat down to talk with us. " Hey guys! I'm sure you're all very curious to see Lexi's results, so let's just get right into it." He told us that I had a 65 degree scoliosis, which was very severe and serious. After that, I couldn't make out anything that the doctor was saying. My mind was racing with horrible thoughts like me having surgery and having a stitched back. Horrible back pictures and information flashed before my mind and I went blank.
