The next day, I had to had my brace made. So I needed to go to the hospital so that the brace maker could measure me and make a model of the brace before he actually makes it. When we got to the brace maker room, everything in there was covered in white paint and there were wood and metal things scattered everywhere. It was messy and untidy in every corner that you looked. " Hey guys! My name is Pat and I'll be making your brace Lexi." In order to make the brace, I had to take off my clothes and stand still while he rubbed a whitish dough type of powder on me. It was hot and wet and so uncomfortable and awkward and I hated it.
My mom stood next to me and cheered me on as I stood awkwardly with wet dough on my whole entire body. The dough started to turn dry and harden. Pat told me that I needed to suck in my stomach and tell him when I couldn't breathe. Finally, he got to a point where I couldn't take it any more and my lungs couldn't take in enough air. He got the message and quickly took all the dough off me as I was putting my clothes back on. I started crying again because I hated it so much and all of this scoliosis stuff was taking over my life. Instead of comforting me,however, Pat started to laugh. He was laughing at me. "Stop crying little girl, I've seen people with worse situations than you. So toughen up and be thankful for what you don't have." I was so mad I could punch the guy. How could he say that bull when I was in so much pain both inside and out. I was so pissed and my mom tried to calm me down but I snapped at her instead.
We left the hospital in a bad mood and still leftover of that terrible dough thing on my body. I took a shower when we got home and immediately went to sleep. I had nightmare of me having surgery that night.
