my mum wants me to buy bananas at the nearby grocery store.
out of all things, she wants me to buy some fruit. and that's it.
in the middle of my all nighter, i'm not up to it.
i tell my mum i'm busy and i'll do it tomorrow. she starts to yell, so i put on my coat and walk out.
all through the trip i look at my watch and calculate how much time i have left.
i tear my hands through my hair. i have only about seven hours until school.
and that was without sleep. i'm mad. at myself.
why did i put off my assignment until the last day. this sucks.
i run through the store, grab some bananas and crafting glue, then i give it to the woman.
she takes her time getting the scanner. i tap my foot hurriedly.
how long does it take to buy two simple things. why why why.
i guess my thoughts were shown on my face because the woman glares at me and goes ever more slowly.
i'm actually really surprised this convenience store is still open. it's already morning.
i look around. it was just us here. i shake my head.
what kind of person makes an old lady do the work by herself at 1am.
it's like i'm in a movie. everything feels surreal, unrealistic. the lack of sleep is probably getting to me.
as soon as she puts the stuff in a plastic bag i start to run, determined to get home as quick as i can.
suddenly the woman speaks up before i can slip through the sliding doors.
"do you want to see something, annie?"
my heart stops. how did she know my name? what does she want to show me? holy shit i'm about to die.
"i. . ." i laugh nervously. "uh, no thanks, gotta get home."
i hear something move behind me. i curse. this is the part where i get hit in the head with something, huh?
my head spins and i black out.
called it.
