Judy's P.o.V

Three long weeks had passed since that first case and multiple people called in about all sorts of despicable crimes. Unfortunately, not all of these callers could give valid descriptions of the criminals responsible for these crimes. The only reliable resources I had here were crime scene evidence, researching, and the various crime reports.

In the late afternoon, I sat at my desk just madly scribbling away on the notepad in front of me. The tabletop of my office desk was covered completely with a large variety of papers. One stack was some of the criminal records of Zootopia and another stack was Sunday newspapers that I had a habit of paying for each week. Along with the power of technology, these became a big help in some kind of way.

There was just one distraction coming in-between all of this though: Nick and his clever comments every now and then.

He respected the fact that this was an important task assigned to the both of us, but his interest lied more in attempting to pull my dedicated attention away from my own workspace.

Every second of this moment, it felt like his green eyes were watching me. Maybe that's because he was actually sitting directly across from my office desk when he should've been at his own.

"So, how long do you plan on sitting there and watching me do everything, exactly?" I asked, only glancing at him.

"I don't know. Maybe for eternity?" Nick jokingly replied.

"Nick, I'm serious. It's literally creeping me out here," I said.

He gasped. "Oh. So, you actually do notice me?"

"How do you believe I can't when you're this close?" I asked.

"I don't. I just needed a reason to get you to stop humiliating yourself in attempting to ignore me for the past thirty minutes."

I immediately froze and shifted my eyes towards him, a smile crossing my face as I knew I'd been caught. "Clever fox."

"Could you repeat that for me? I didn't quite hear it clear enough," Nick requested.

I playfully rolled my eyes and directed them back to my workspace below. "Nope. I'm not falling for that one again. Let alone one of my own tricks."

He chuckled with a smile of his own. "It was worth a try."

Silence followed for about three minutes. In that short amount of time, I noticed something interesting that connected the evidence laid out on my desk. In each crime scene photo, the word Albino was carved somewhere within the area. That meant two things: one, this criminal wanted to be found, and two, they saw this as a humorous little game. "This is very... interesting."

"What is?" Nick asked as he raised a brow.

"Almost every recent crime that has occurred in this city was performed by the same criminal."

"Clawhauser!" I called from afar as I was rushing up to the circular main entrance desk. He heard me and looked up immediately.

"Need something, Judy?"

I stopped once I finally reached the desk. "Yes! Is Chief still in the building right now? This is a very important matter."

"Oooh, you just missed him. That grumpy guy ran off to check out one of the precinct's newer crime scenes."

I sighed. Just when I possibly had some valuable information, Chief Bogo busied himself with something else. "Well," I began as I handed Clawhauser a folder that contained everything Nick and I had discovered during our research fest, "when he comes back, can you please give all of this to him?"

Clawhauser nodded and took the folder from me. "Sure thing!"

"Thanks," I said, heading back to my office.

If it seems like this chapter is shorter than the other two, then it most definitely is. In my defense, juggling two ongoing fanfictions is quite difficult. So, just so I won't make the same mistake of ignoring this fanfiction like I did with my other one, the purpose of this chapter is to keep the story alive and going.

And who doesn't need a little JuNick every now and then? .3.
