Judy's P.o.V
Before Nick and I could do anything the next day, Chief Bogo wanted us to come into his office immediately. I could only assume that Clawhauser informed him of the research folder from yesterday. If Chief was going to discuss any matter that didn't concern that, then I'd definitely be surprised.
I wasn't the only one being affected by this continuous crime activity. If you ever stepped into the precinct at this point in time, you would be able to sense a dreadful aura. You'd be able to feel it just sinking into your fur as you stand. It would be simply impossible to miss such a feeling. The air would be heavy enough to force you to feel some kind of depression, some kind of inexplicable... anger build up inside of you. Well, I felt that exact way when I entered the building myself.
Why did it feel this way, you ask? The answer is very simple.
The. Precinct. Was. In. Utter. Chaos.
Everyone experienced a mood swing at least once throughout the previous weeks. Even the usually-cheerful Clawhauser couldn't bring himself to smile at his usual workspace centered in the lobby area. The fact that some people began to doubt the police only made it worse.
As an officer, I understand pretty well that the city will always be in danger. Always. I also know some people -- other than criminals and ex-cons -- absolutely despise the police force as well. But it stirs up a terrible feeling when some people stop believing in you. Maybe that's just me getting too caught up in my reputation, though.
"You know, Chief would think you were going insane if he could see how deep in thought you've been lately." As an off-guard reflex, I jumped while naturally raising my ears in a mentally alert state.
My eyes had widened so much that it felt like they would fall out of their place at any given moment. How foolish was I to have forgotten I was in the public? In fact, where had I been standing right now? Who exactly was it that heard me? I turned in a different direction only to realize that it was just Nick, a know-it-all smile already crossing his face as he waited for me to respond.
"Nick! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I asked him with an annoyed frown, clasping the left side of my chest as I took a minute to catch my breath.
"Hehe, sorry! I honestly wasn't. You've just been so noticeably distant that I felt the need to drag you back to reality for once. That's all."
I let out a stressful sigh. "I've been ignoring you, haven't I?"
"Yep. Ever since two weeks ago," he replied.
"I'm sorry."
"No, no. It's fine. Can't blame you for being mentally sucked into the precinct's newfound negativity."

Nick's P.o.V
"So, you're telling me you believe that this is all the doing of criminals that are banded together in a group?"
"Yes, Sir," answered Judy.
I sat in my seat silently as I listened to Judy and Chief discussing the matter aloud. To be honest, I would've joined in with any chance I had, but a certain bunny 'insisted' that I keep quiet and let her do all the talking before we stepped into Chief Bogo's office.
"What's so alarming about this one group compared to all of the others? I'm sure you've noticed many associations just like them hanging around the city in your time of being here."
"I undoubtedly have witnessed such sights, but with all do respect, Sir, I believe this gang of people shouldn't be ignored or overlooked. They could be a danger to Zootopia's innocent civilians. Or even worse, they could be plotting against us, the police force, for their own personal reasons."
Chief Bogo nodded in a more understanding way. He then shifted his brown eyes from Judy to me. "Since I'm still skeptical of this idea, I'm going to need more convincing than that."
This surprised me more than ever, and it really showed through my facial expression. Was I hearing this correctly? Chief Bogo actually wanted ME to speak on the matter as well?
Somehow, I began to feel a sense of intimidation. I quickly glanced at a surprised Judy who, in return, silently nodded in approval at me as if she were able to read my mind so fluently.
With one deep breath, I spoke aloud to Chief Bogo while attempting to carefully choose my words. It was simply a social skill I had picked up from none other than Judy Hopps, and I was in no way as introverted or socially experienced as her to be using it so early. At the same time, I didn't have much of a choice. Did I?
"Well, I have to agree with Judy on this one. There's a strong possibility that something bad might happen if we just allow them to freely roam the city as undiscovered as they are right now. The fact that they are also leaving their marks or initials at certain crime scenes as a way to toy with us is unacceptable for me."
Chief Bogo let out a sigh and shook his head. He then muttered something under his breath intentionally before getting up to gather a couple of things from around his office and returning to his desk.
"Alright then. Since you two seem to be very adamant about this, I guess I'll make a few changes to the primary assignments of the week," Chief Bogo said as he got to work.
"Is there anything else you wanted to discuss with us, Sir?" Judy asked politely.
"No, but I'd appreciate it if I could be left alone now."
"Right. Of course," she replied.
With that, she hopped up from her seat and grabbed my paw. Then, she ran out of Chief Bogo's office while dragging me along with her.

A/N: Aight, so I know I haven't updated this book in a freaking month or two and I'm so sorry for that. My summer's gonna be kind of busy, but I'll at least try to stay active and update more frequently. I think I'll challenge myself to update my stories through a two-week period. If I bypass that time, I'm either procrastinating or I just haven't found the perfect idea for the next chapter yet. So, don't worry!
