I'm not going to go in too much detail about my first few days in Minecraftia. Moreover, life was difficult because I didn't have the correct weapons etc. but I survived, and that's what really matters in the end. So I'll skip right over to when I was adventuring and I got lost for so long I lost count. So what really happened was, I was gone in my 'local cave', replenishing my stone supplies, when I fell into a ravine. As I was approaching the floor of the ravine, I thought to myself, A year of struggle only to die in a stupid ravine? Oh, wait. Perhaps if I die here, I could go back to earth. No, I don't think so. It's me, not an avatar of me. These thoughts flashed through my until I saw some water down there. I managed to manoeuvre myself in such a way that, when I'd fall, I'd land in the water. This was a very big accomplishment for me, because in earth (let alone Minecraftia), I couldn't manoeuvre myself in such tight situations. Then, I moved into Minecraftia and my manoeuvring skills worsened, if anything at all.

Anyhow, I fell into the water and after putting myself together, I got out of it. I was lucky I had crafted myself three stone swords -- for there was an entire horde of monsters coming at me all at once. I pulled out swords from my backpack and held them in both my hands. I only discovered this technique earlier; I was being attacked by a zombie apocalypse and it took literally forever to kill them all with one sword. So, I pulled out another sword in my left hand and I got done with them in a flash. Anyway, back to this horde that was determined to kill me -- at-least they thought so, I plunged myself at a creeper in the face with both my swords. That was the most effective way to kill creepers without having them explode; plunge at their faces with both of your swords. I plunged myself at all the creepers and got done with them first -- the other monsters were a while away, and anyway the creepers were the speediest and THE deadliest. Next were the skeletons. The trick to fighting skeletons was mainly swiftness. Block all incoming arrows with one sword, and plunge the skeletons with the other. I got done with all of the skeletons. Zombies were the easiest to fight -- two swords meant two zombies down. Then, there was only a handful of spiders left to fight. I killed them and got my prize of three string. Perfect, I thought, just what I need to make a bow. These skeletons keep on dropping arrows but what do I do with them?

After collecting all the treasure from the mobs, I put my swords in my backpack and dusted my hands. Now, for mining some treasure.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: For you to really understand the 'mining some treasure' part, in my setting, resources are far more rare and uncommon than the game in reality. Like iron in the real game, you can find it in pretty much any cave. But in my setting, iron is not so commonly found anywhere, and it takes real courage and determination to really get it.

I looked around me. Huge waterfalls and huge lavafalls came running down the everlasting walls of the ravine. How on earth was this place formed, I thought, perhaps an earthquake happened here a long time ago. I decided to hold my sword in one hand, and a pickaxe in the other, so if I was ambushed by some monsters or found some treasure, I could sort myself out quickly and move on. If there was one thing moving into Minecraftia thought me, it would be swiftness. And especially in the situation I was in (in a ravine), swiftness mattered more than anything else. Anyhow, I saw some coal on the floor ahead of me. SCORE! I struck my pickaxe at it repeatedly, till I got my coal but my pickaxe snapped right there and then. Three pieces on the ground. Luckily for me, I had crafted myself another pickaxe earlier. I pulled it out of my backpack, and when I was done mining the coal, I put it all in my backpack and froze. Another horde of monsters headed towards me. I quickly put my pickaxe away and pulled out my other sword, and plunged myself at the creeper in the face. Now something was strange about this horde, there was only one creeper, but mainly skeletons. And they seemed to keep on coming. There was a room made out of cobblestone, but with moss all around it. And the skeletons were coming out from there, in large numbers. "I'M A GONER!!" I exclaimed out loud in panic. I had two choices to make back then: 1) Take a deep breath and start fighting, and 2) Run away. I took the 'start fighting' decision and was thankful for it. You see, if I had started running away, the skeletons wouldn't have forgotten me, they would have chased me.Anyway, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, thought about my decision, and plunged into fight.

I seemed to fight on FOREVER but in vain -- the skeletons just kept on coming, I couldn't block so many arrows at once, I broke one sword (but that wasn't that much of an issue, I had two others to support me, and I had axes and pickaxes for the last minute), and things just kept on worsening. Things were so bad, that at one point I gave up all hopes and yelled on the top of my lungs "HELP ME! ANYONE THERE?". Then I noticed something, there was a strange light coming from the room of mossy cobblestone, then suddenly, I heard mining noises and that light went away. Then, I saw another person come and start fighting the skeletons with me. Then, a third person came, and in no time, all the skeletons were killed. In the process, I had broken both of my swords, and I was striking skeletons with my axe. "Whew!" I said, rubbing my forehead. I turned to the two people who also seemed to be catching their breath.
"Thanks for that help, by the way." I said.
"It's only a pleasure. Just one tip. Next time, aim for the spawner, destroy it, and then start fighting the skeletons. At least you won't have so many coming forever." The person replied.

"Um, what's the 'spawner'?"

"The spawner is a block. When it detects a player nearby, it starts spinning around at a ridiculous speed and monsters start coming out of it. You get different spawners for different monsters. Oh, and the spawners can be broken by a pickaxe only. I doubt Notch even knows this, or he is an evil guy disguised as good. I don't trust him one bit."

"Uh okay," I murmured. All that information was a bit too overwhelming back then.

"What's your name, by the way?" The other person asked.

"Ah, my name is Charlie. Nice to meet you two" I said.

"Ah. My name is Lukas," he said, and thumped his partner's shoulder and said "and this is Aiden."

I don't want to go over too much detail on what happened on our encounter. But I looted the chests in the spawner room and managed to find myself three saddles, a bunch of apples, and some bread. Then, Lukas and Aiden said that they had gotten all the iron this ravine had to offer and we'd split it all when we got home, and that they knew a way back to surface. And so, we started our long, homeward journey.

The name Charlie: Well, Charlie is my favourite boys' name, so I chose it for my main character.

The names Lukas and Aiden: Inspired by Minecraft: Story Mode's two characters named Lukas and Aiden.

QOTD: What do you think happens in the next chapter? I've outlined some hints in this chapter...
