"JASON!! RUN!!"

That was all it took for all of us and a good number of pupils, including Lucas Case, to look in the direction of where Leo and that girl was.

Except for one thing.

They were gone.

Frank and Jason exchanged looks, I started scanning for Percy and Annabeth, but they were en route to the hallway next to where Leo just was, with that girl. What, how'd they get over there??

I grabbed Franks forearm and pulled him along. Jason and Piper doing the same as we weaved rather ungracefully through the crowd. Knocking over a few people as we bolted for the door after Leo's shout.

We ran through the spot where Leo had called from, that split second where I looked up before I turned and he was gone. As we did, a chill spread through my body. An eerie one that reminded me of the underworld with its unfamiliarity in such an upbeat place.

Chill......

We burst through the doors, looking left and right. Percy and Annabeth had made more progress than us, and were down at the end of the corridor on my left, at the doors from where we came in. The differences is that now they were wide-open. Percy looked down the corridor at us, his eyes as wide as the doors in alarm.

"Quick!!" He called at us, we ran towards him and Annabeth, our original shock shaken by his voice. Percy uncapped Riptide and Annabeth unsheathed her knife from around her ankle/calf strap. The three around me over-took me, being the faster runners, so I was soon at the back of the pack of them. Jason flipped his coin and piper also unsheathed her knife, Katropis, from her forearm sheath.

When we got outside it was a lot darker, the moonlight shone and acted as our light in the cloudless sky. We saw a figures - two figures. Ahead of us. One draped over the other. Leo. We all ran after them.

"Stop!" Jason shouted. The temperature dropped and the figure stopped, turning slowly around. Leo's arm held around her neck, slumped down and unconscious.

We all halted as soon as she had turned around. In the moonlight, her eyes seemed like ice, the slate blue that haunted you it was so cold and piercing.

"Hello Jason, Piper." She greeted.

"Khione." Piper spat out, a hateful sneer.

"Hello to you also, Hazel, Percy, Frank and Annabeth." Khoine said.

Percy did a double take, then Jason spoke up. "Let him go, Khoine. It's me you want." He raised his sword higher. Khoine let out a laugh. The temperature dropped more and snowflakes fell.

"So arrogant!" She chanted. "So needy to be a hero."

Percy stepped forward, "look, Khoine, is it? We really are not in the mood for this. Just drop him and leave him alone. He has done nothing wrong."

Khoine laughed again. "I just love hero's sometimes. This one," she bumped Leo up her shoulder. "Fought me at the Wolf House. He humiliated me and destroyed my reputation as well as my new life after Gaia was to take over. He has done EVERYTHING wrong." She smiled evilly. It really creeped me out. But before any of us could say anything, she and Leo started to flake away as if the were snowing vertically upwards and into the wind, Jason lunged for them. "No!" He cried and swiped to grab Leo. But they were gone.

He let out a sharp whistle and looked at me and Percy expectantly. I knew what he needed. I called for Arion. Percy did the same for blackjack. Then we all split into teams and searched. We knew there was little hope, but we HAVE to find him. I went with Frank on Arion, Annabeth and Percy on Blackjack and Piper and Jason on Tempest.

Three hours later we rendezvoused back at the school. Everyone looked weary and I knew I did too.

"We'll get Lucas. Then go back to camp. Then we'll figure out how to get Leo back from there." Annabeth said. Always the one with a plan.

We did just that.
