Stolen Glory

For five seconds, you just stood in awe and despair.
You looked over at Takumi, who was frantically looking around for his bow.
"TAKUMI! YOU LEFT IT IN HOSHIDO, REMEMBER!" You cried out.
You both dashed determinedly down the halls, tripping over the occasional rolled up rug or cleaning cart. The hallways felt longer and running through them felt like quicksand. You and Takumi hadn't even had a chance to consider getting help.
"(y/n)? Why are you-" Elise asked innocently. "NOT NOW ELISE!"
Even though she didn't mean anything by not knowing what you were doing, to you, it felt as if she were being antagonizing, as if she was purposefully getting in the way.
There was an open window onlooking the court yard, you decided to jump through, for it looked like a quicker way to get down and there were bushes that would catch your fall. Turns out, those bushes were rose bushes. No matter, you ran through the bushes, the thorns catching your skin and your clothes, staining your legs a shade of red from the blood being blown across your leg from the force at running forward at such a speed.
You saw Takumi run through the main courtyard gate, knife in hand, an angry yet somehow emotionless look on his face. You grabbed the dragonstone that you always kept with you from your pocket and raised it toward the sky.
The familiar, sharp pain shot through your body and you felt a rush of adrenaline shoot through you.
"Ah, it'd been so long since I was last in this body!" You thought to yourself as you looked around for the bandit and you caught a glimpse of his garnet red cape. You bolted toward figure, and just as you were about to attack, you heard the faint sound of a baby's cry. In that moment you were reminded of how he took Shigure.
Surprisingly, the figure put the child down on the grass and pulled out a large, toothed sword that was tinged red with blood all along the edge. Takumi ran up behind you to back you up. The bandit lunged forward and you dodged the attack, jumping backwards and crashing into a large tree.
Takumi took the opportunity and stabbed him in the leg, accidentally leaving the knife in his leg. The bandit groaned in pain and appeared to be already defeated. His hand was still tightly grasping his blade. You jumped forward as he stuck out his blade, and slashed it to the side. You were immediately thrown to the right and hit the wall of the castle, transforming back into your human form.
"Damn, it was a wyrmslayer!" You cursed. "Gods... My body aches. Takumi, I trust you can do this."
Takumi ran to you, his face in panic. "(y/n) are you OK?"
He grasped your hand
"IDIOT! Go fight him!" You asked, infuriated.
As Takumi stood up and ran toward the bandit, armed only with his fists, Leo came running through the gate tome in hand.
Takumi was about to throw a punch at the bandit when-
"MOVE!" Leo called out as he shot a ball of fire from his hand.
It hit the bandit and it caused a small explosion sending the bandit and Takumi backwards.
You caught Takumi, but the force of him caused you to fall backwards anyways.
"Gods, Leo! What the hell was that for?!" Takumi spit out angrily.
Takumi was not only mad, because he got hit with Leo's spell, but he was, in fact, even more mad that he stole his chance! His spotlight!
"I told you to move." Leo said smugly, with a slight smirk on his face.
"Stop fighting! Where's Shigure?" You asked with a worried tone in your voice.
You looked over to where you last saw him, and there he was, still swaddled in baby blue cloth. You tried to run over the child, but your body was in so much pain, you could hardly move.
"Leo, can you please-Urk.. Pick up Shigure to check if he's o..kay.."
Without hesitation, he walked over and picked up the babe gracefully. It was abnormal for him to act so... 'show-offy.' He was most likely doing this to piss off Takumi. And it was working.
A fairly large crowd gathered around in the courtyard to see what had happened. The bandit was taken away by Nohrian soldiers. Takumi walked over and lifted you up. You rested your head on his shoulder.
"Taku.. Where's Felicia?" You asked tiredly.
He stopped in his steps and looked over at the relatively large crowd.
"EVERYBODY! Please look around for a maid with light red colored hair!"
He called out to the crowd.
The entire crowd became a search party. You could tell some of them were pretty dim, because they looked under rocks and such. Takumi continued walking with you in his arms. He set you down on the grass, where there weren't any people to disturb you two. He pulled out a vial of pink liquid and fed it through your lips. Your wound automatically started healing and you felt rejuvenated, although a horrible aftertaste was left in your mouth.
You stared off blankly in to space.
"How could a single bandit breach the castle's defence? I need to speak to Xander about this..." You thought.
You looked over at Takumi who was glaring at Leo.
It wasn't like he was jealous. This feeling was... involuntary. It was an instinctive jealousy.
"Takumi."
He looked over at you, with a look of pity on his face.
"Please know this... I don't care if you try to prove your worth by performing dangerous acts like that. I'll love you the same either way."
No response. He looked back over to Leo who was helping Felicia out of a bush.
"Takumi."
You put your hand against his face, but he remained unfazed.
"Hmm.. I'll know what will get his attention." You thought maliciously.
You slapped him across the face and he just stared at you in awe.
"Kiss me, you dummy!" You giggled as you pressed your lips to his.

Hello again! Thank you for reading and keeping up with my fanfiction! Once again, I would like to thank you for your support! So let's cut right to the chase. For this fanfiction, I don't have a plan as to where I'm going with it at all. I think that's a bit of an issue for an ongoing story like this, so if you want me to really improve the oncoming chapters, it might take me a while.
