Chapter Thirty-One
Dear Oliver,
I know this letter will come as a back to you, as well as our absence. Rest assured, we are all safe and sound. It's you who I'm worried about.I've known you for a long time now, Oliver Hart, and never before have I seen you like this. There is such joy and wonder in your eyes that nothing similar has been present there in all time I've known you. So please don't be angry for what I'm now asking you to do:
Stay.
Here.
For as long as you want.
Don't come home until you're ready. Not until you've seen everything. Not until you've found your own dream. Not until you hold it in your palm and wish it away to some other fortunate soul who has touched your life. When you've seen all that you need to see, done all that you wished to do, and become the person that you want to be... then you can return to me.
Until then, there's some funds to get you started on the biggest adventure of your life. And a journal so you can tell me every moment of it when we meet again. Only when you find yourself bathed in life's riches... then you can pay me back.
Do this for you, Oliver.
All my love,
Rebecca.
