chapter 2

Alex's P.o.v.

"Everyone we will be there in one hour. Now we will be leaving the pregnant, elderly, and children. Say your goodbyes we will either return victorious or we won't return at all." I step of the rock and watch as everyone says their goodbyes. I see mates saying goodbye to each other and I feel a pang in my heart. I haven't found my mate yet. But I will and soon my pack will be the most powerful of them all as soon as we take down the silver moon pack. I'm the Alpha of the grey moon pack because my father fell in battle so the title went to me his only son. I'm only twenty-one and my sister is twenty-five but she lives with her mate in his pack. I prepare for battle and get my extra clothes then I transform into my wolf form where I am 6'2 feet tall and as black as night I stand ready as the last of the goodbyes are being said then once everyone is ready we run to battle.

Violets P.o.v.

I wake up with fifteen minutes to spare.

I get my extra clothes ready and tie them to my ankles so when I transform I will have something to change in.

I glance out to see my family and the pack head off the only one's that are not going is the pregnant, elderly, and children.

Just as they left I transformed and followed them. I keep at a safe distance so they won't be able to smell me or hear me as we run I see my reflection in the puddles we pass. I am all white with dark brown eyes I'm about 6'0 feet tall. The wind blows my scent to them so as quick as I can I change the wind current so it won't reach them.

I stay still and watch as Zack, a medium grey wolf raise his head and sniffs a little he glances around but shrugs and continues to run. I let out a sigh of relief and continue to follow.

I stop twenty feet away and stand in the woods as they line up in a clearing.

"We will warn them off but be ready in case it's a fight they want. If they attack then go at them with no mercy." My dad thinks. We all have a telepathic link when we are wolves or if we are in human form we can talk telepathically to our mate. Other packs can hear us if we will it or vise versa but if we don't then only our pack can hear us. We can block each other out or make it where only one person can hear us.

"Yes sir!" Everyone shouts

Just then a huge black wolf walks out of the other side of the clearing. Dozens more walk out behind him and line up.

"Leave now, you're coming on to our territory. This is your last chance to turn back or we will strike you down!" My father shouted.

"I am Alex Grey, Alpha of the grey moon pack. And we will be the best pack as soon as we take you down!" Alex shouted and with that he and his pack started to run forward.

"Attack!" My father shouted.

I watched as they clashed and as they got mixed up I tried to only focus on Zack and dad but it was to hard as I watched our warriors and their warriors fall.

When I looked for my brother I saw him fighting two other wolves but it looked as if he was in control but then everyone stopped fighting and stared off in the middle of the clearing. I tried to see but there were to many wolves in the way. I made the earth around me rise so I on a small hill. What I saw was the black wolf Alex and my father fighting I watched as they circled each other. Right when they were about to pounce a wind blew throughout the woods and I didn't care enough to stop it. They both stopped and looked up at me. As soon as I meet Alex's eyes it felt as if something changed, like my whole focus changed to only being concerned if Alex was ok. I shook my head and looked at dad. He's pissed I put my ears down as he yelled,"Zack!" He then turned back to Alex, who was still staring at me with wide eyes. Oh those eyes they were dark blue, and it felt as if I could get lost in them. I shook my head just as Zack got to me he growled, a warning for me to go home. My eyes widened then just as I was turning I heard a bark and then a thump. I watched in amazement as Alex crouched into a attack position and snarled at Zack. Everyone stared as Alex snarled at anyone who came near me. "Everyone change back human now!" My father shouted. All of our pack went to the edge of the clearing away from grey pack and turned human. My dad and Zack stayed human and circled Alex but every time they tried to go behind him near me he would start to snarl. My father looked at me and said,"Run." I nodded my head and turned and ran. I could hear Alex in my head yelling,"Stop please I won't you! Please stop." I could hear him running after me.

I ran home and waited for everyone to get home. After about a hour the whole pack walked to the house and waited for dad to get to the front. When dad finally got to me he picked me up and hugged me,"Are you ok we lost you and Alex when you ran." I nod my head yes. He sighs,"That's good to know..." suddenly he grabs me by my ear and says,"You're grounded to your room, Zack gaurd her." He lets me go and Zack takes me to my room. I hear dad say," Put extra guards all around the perimeter, alert me if anything happens."
