Chapter 8-Hal's P.O.V

Hal's P.O.V

I followed the path Saki showed me and arrived at the living room. The men in the room silently looked worried and confused. I gave myself a small peptalk before heading down.

'Okay Hal. You can do this. Its just Saki's friend's brothers. Nothing to worry about. They aren't even her family so they aren't allowed to judge. Just tell them what happened. Answer their questions. And checkup on Saki once more before leaving.'

I sighed and slowly make my way into sight. They all looked up at me, some looking more happier than others. I walked down the stairs and stood infront of the turned off TV. Everyone focused on me as I stood there trying to figure out what to say.

"Hi, the name's Hal. Hal Yonotan. I've been a good friend of Saki since she was a child. And what happened moments ago..."I paused."Well, this might seem as a shock to you but Saki has a brother."

"WHAT?!"gasped a white haired man.

A man with blond hair nodded and turned toward the others.

"But that isn't the end of it. I said 'has' but I really mean 'had' a brother. He died a few days ago in a police shooting and...Saki is grieving. We just found this out today. So please make sure she stays safe."I state.

The same blond haired man stands up and intoduces me to the others. Phew! For a second there I thought they wouldn't accept me! I finished telling them about Saki's brother's funeral and they wanted to know a little about me.

"How long have you known Saki?"asked Masaomi as he lets me sit on the corner of the couch.

"10 years."

"Interesting. Did you like live with her and her brother?"asked Azusa.

"I...I don't know if I'm allowed to release that information."I sigh."Saki likes to keep her feelings and memories to herself so I don't think it would be of her interest for me to spill her life story."

"Okay...so I have one last question. What do you see Saki-chan as?"asked Tsubaki.

I leaned against the cushion and thought. The others seemed to be intrigued by my response. What, do they like her or something?

'What do I see her as...'

Then finally I knew.

"I love her. She's like a little sister to me. The last promise I made to her brother was...to protect her. And that's a promise I want to keep."

The brothers sighed in relief and everything finally clicked. A few of them did like her. Well, why not have some fun with the situation.

"And if any of you end up getting touchy-feely with her...I'll make sure to stop by and slice off your hands."

I glared at them all, send a few shivers down some of their spines.

"I better get going. Nice meeting you all."I start heading up the stairs until I suddenly stopped."Please keep her safe."

"We will."smiles Fuuto.

The brothers and I gasp. I seriously didn't expect Fuuto to say something nice! After meeting him he just said 'Nice to meet you baka. Cool hair cut. It suits you because you're as stupid as it is.'. Fuuto blushed and furrowed his brows at us.

"Stop staring at me bakas! She's a friend of mine of course I'd care."

I head toward Saki's room as Yusuke and Fuuto fight over some random subject. I open the door and kneel next to Saki.

"They understood."I whisper.

I was pretty sure she was asleep. So I decided to leave. That was until she grabbed my hand and forced me to face her lying form.

"Thank you Hal-kun."

"You're welcome Saki-chan. Stay safe."
