Chapter 10 - Mr. Yonotan

I stand up and walk into the bathroom. I took a long bubble bath, my hair put up in soap suds and my skin covered in soft bumps of bubbles. I let out a sigh as I grab my towel and wash myself up. I dried my hair and let it fall down my back in loose waves. My eyes changed from blood shot red, back to their original magenta hue. I examined the wound on my leg and my eyes widened. There was...barely a scar. It was just a patch of skin that was one hue darker than my surrounding skin. Whatever Hal gave me worked quickly. I put some more medication and slapped a large bandaid on. I put on my black mid-thigh shorts and magenta v-neck T-shirt. I put on my silver necklace with a crescent moon charm, hair-ties at my wrists, and black wedge boots. I open the door slowly to hear a few voices down stairs and checked my phone. 10:42.

'Maybe I can go shopping after lunch.'

I grab my cream-colored purse and put in my wallet, phone, keys, and mace spray...if something got ugly. I walked down the stairs into the living room and everyone went silent. Masaomi, Tsubaki, Azusa, and Kaname went to work. Subaru, lori, Ema, Wataru, and Yusuke went to their college for some summer studies. I saw Fuuto glance at me from the corner of his eye before a slight tug raised his lips.

"Feeling better Saki-chan?"

"Much."

I look around to see Hikaru and another man talking. He had creamy brown-looking hair and brown eyes.

"Saki this is Louis-san, our other brother."introduces Hikaru.

"Nice to meet you Louis-san."I smile."You have very beautiful hair."

"Thank you...Saki-chan."Louis walks ever so closer to me and starts playing with a strand of my wavy hair."You have very beautiful hair yourself. If you wouldn't mind...may I style it one day?"

"Of course I wouldn't mind."I beam.

Louis smiles and goes back to talking to Hikaru on the couch. Why am I so cheerful today? I took this moment to go to the kitchen a for a snack. Ukyo was just tying his green apron around himself when I walked in. He turned his head and slightly gaped when he saw me.

"Are you feeling better Saki-chan?"

"Yes Ukyo-kun."I smile."I'll be going out for lunch today. I need to do some shopping for the trip."

"Alright, just don't come back too late."

"I'll come back soon."

I take a piece of toast that popped out of the toaster and headed out the door. I was halfway out the gate until I noticed that my motorcycle was gone.

"THE HE-...Oh..."

Realization struck me as I remembered Hal took my motorcycle for some upgrades yesterday. It was three more days until the trip and there weren't any races worth racing with an injury.

'I'll just take the train.'

I start walking to the station. Luckily it was nearly empty, all except for an elderly man and I. He looked strangely familiar...

"Hey aren't you the owner of that ice-cream shop?"I ask blankly across the small train car. 

I was sitting in the middle of the train car while the elderly man sat across from me with a gentle smile on his face and his hands folded. He had a grey mustache and wrinkles around his eyes.

"Yes I am...I remember you. You came in with those three young boys. I should be showing my gratitude."

"Why? What did I do?"

"Ever since you and those boys walked into my shop, I have been getting a lot of publicity. I hear your name is...Saki Yamamoto is it?"

"It is."I smile."I'm glad your business is successful."

"You remind me of someone..."he states, his eyebrows furrow."Have you ever heard of my son, Hal Yonotan?"

"Hal-kun?! You're Mr. Yonotan?"I gasp standing up and bowing."I-It's nice to meet you. I never really heard that you were Hal's father."

'Oh god I messed up.'

I finally got to meet Hal's father...in a train car head toward the shopping center.

"Yes yes...I adopted him when he was at the age of 14."he recites."If you wouldn't mind, I would like to tell you more about him. I know how he loves to hide his past."

"It is quite alright."I say intrigued."He is very mysterious at times."

"He is..."Mr. Yonotan chuckles."When I adopted him, he always kept telling me about this wonderful girl and boy from the orphanage. 'Saki-chan. I miss Saki-chan and Yuri-chan.'. With his every remark I felt bad, I felt as if I took him away from his family. When he grew up, he started street racing. I heard that he has found someone who is an amazing racer and he uses his half of the winnings for him and myself. Hal even told me that he adopted the three boys of yours."

"Really? Why? I thought he hated children!"I gasp.

'So...Yuki, Rine, and Will have found themselves a family already. I'm glad.'

"Hal said that he saw himself in them. If you would like to visit them, you are always welcome. They have decided to keep their last name as Yamamoto, for you."he smiles handing me a paper with Hal's address on it.

"Thank you. I'm glad the three are together."

"As am I..."

The train car stops at the park and Mr. Yonotan stands up to leave.

"Have a nice day Saki-chan."

"You too Mr. Yonotan."
