(Alex, Son of the Werewolf King)
My father is useless, I can't get a single word through his thick skull. He doesn't understand that all we have to do is make an alliance with them or a compromise that will help our species co-exist with each other. But as usual, he doesn't want to hear it, ooo if I could just do something that could help both the dragons and the werewolves believe that violence isn't the answer. Well, even without my father, I must find a way to stop the war without pushing either species into extinction. I guess I should go take another walk through the forest again to come up with something, anything, that might help stop the war.
(Ember, Daughter of the Dragon God)
I'm getting really irritated with my father, because he thinks that war is the answer to everything. Trust me, he said this to my face, he said & I quote, "War is solution that can solve everything." Well, I think that there are better ways to solve things than war, like making a negotiation, or an alliance of some sort. I don't know, just something that is a better alternative than war. If only I could get my whole species to think my way, well the best thing for me to do is go think about how I'm going to get this to work in the forest. Maybe I can find an answer there.
(Narrator)
As the story progresses, two main characters will meet, but yet they don't even know it. They also don't know that this meeting was already set up for them before they were even born, so them meeting in the same forest is destiny.
(Alex, Son of the Werewolf King)
As I approach the forest, I start to feel a pull, that's telling me to go in further, but this feeling is different from the other feelings I use to get when coming near the forest. The feeling never scared me nor had it felt intimidating, it was always inviting and kind to me the forest. It's always been a safe place for me to think, but this time the feeling was that the forest was acting desperate, so instead of getting nervous, I allowed the forest to guide me through it's ever shifting branches. The branches had created a path way for me, leading me where it wanted me to go. After a while of walking through the pathway, I heard a sound like someone was walking towards me, so I went into my human form so as to not scare whatever the forest was leading me to. But when the walkway cleared into a beautiful pond surrounded by the leaves of a willow, I knew the forest had something waiting for me.
(Ember, Daughter of the Dragon God)
When I reached the forest, it started to call out to me in desperation, I knew that the forest understood what was going on. The forest knew about the war, and so it created a pathway for me to follow, without hesitation, I followed the pathway. As I walked deeper and deeper into the forest's pathway, I heard someone coming from in front of me, so I went into human form so not to scare away whoever was passing by, but I kept me up just in case. Then the pathway finally stopped, but where it stopped was a very beautiful sight. The forest had taken me to a beautiful pond with an ancient willow tree hiding it in plane sight, the forest offered me a place to sit. The forest wanted me to sit on a beautifully smooth rock right beside the pond, I couldn't turn down such a soft place to sit so I did as it asked. But out of nowhere, a handsome boy about my age walked into the clearing as well. Is this what the forest wanted so desperately to show me.
(Alex, Son of the Werewolf King)
Sitting there on a smooth river rock was a beautiful girl about my age. She was the most beautiful of any woman I had ever seen. Her hair was a bright red, and her eyes were of a beautiful light green. Her skin had a nice cream color to it, and her body shape was anything but frail. Yes she was a built young lady just like myself, but I wasn't worried about that, what I was worried about were her tail and wings. Yes, she has a pair of wings and a tail, why not run you ask, because she looked at me in the same way I was looking at her.
(Ember, Daughter of the Dragon God)
There he was, standing there on the other side of the pond looking at me in the same amount of surprise I had on my face. He has dark brown hair, and crystal blue eyes. He had a nice tan, and by the looks of him, he had a rock hard body as well. But that wasn't what I was worried about, it was his ears and puffy tail that surprised me. See when any creature goes into their human form, not everything is hidden. Like me, my wings and tail a still showing, and like him his ears and tail are still showing, but only other creatures than humans can see those types of differences between us, to humans we look like everyday normal humans. But of course this ability doesn't work on other colonies, which I think it should. But based off of what I see, I would say that this boy is in fact a werewolf.
"Hi." "Hello,"she said. "My name is Alex."I started walking very consciously towards her. "Don't come any closer" she said in a harsh voice while backing up away from me. "Don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you." I tried as hard as I could not to intimidate her, but as usual it isn't very convincing. "Listen, I don't want to hurt you, ok, I'm just lost. I need some answers, the forest lead me to you, so maybe you have the answers to my questions." She looked at me with a lot of suspicion, but then she relaxed and stood straight while looking at me in the eyes, probably checking to see if I was lying(I would do the same thing to her, if I were in her position). "What did you say your name was again ?" she asked. "Alex." She took a deep breath then spoke again. "My name is Ember, and it's nice to meet you Alex." I let out a sigh of relief, as she said those words, because I thought she would run and tell the Dragon empire that there was a werewolf in the forest. "It's nice to meet you too Ember." I started to walk closer, but she still kept her distance. "Why are you afraid of me ?" She then looked at me with surprise as I watched her in silence waiting for an answer. "Because I don't know if I can trust you or not." After a long period of silence, I spoke. "Well didn't I already prove that I'm no threat to you, I can see in your eyes that you were trying to see if I were lying." I tried once again to approach her, but this time she let me get closer. Either out of her own curiosity or she was just interested, she also came a little closer. "What are you ?" I looked in amazement as she opened her wings and showed them off. "Isn't it obvious, I'm a dragon. What are you ?" I was surprised that she even asked that question, but like a gentlemen I answered her question. "I'm a werewolf. Are you royalty or a peasant ?" Then she relaxed a little as I sat down in the green moss next to the pond. "I'm royalty, what class are you ?" It was a pretty fair question, so I answered honestly. "I'm also royalty." Then she looked surprised at my answer, I didn't think to meet a royal either, but by her appearance she looked shocked to meet another royal out in the forest. "So why did you come out here ?" I didn't think she would ask me that question so soon, but I must be respectful to her if I want to make a good impression. "The forest called out to me in a desperate pull. It felt as if it knew what was going on outside it's protective layer. And I think it led me here to you, but I don't know why. Do you ?" She was shocked at my answer, so I waited for her to reply. The awkward silence finally broke when she replied. "I also do not know why I was brought here by the forest. It also called out to me in a desperate pull that lead me here to this place. I believe that the answer to our question is us." Her answer surprised me, how could we have the same question, this is the first time we've seen each other. "What do you mean we are the answer ?" She looked frustrated at my question, but answered respectfully. "I mean that the forest thinks that with us together as a couple, we can stop the war between our species." Did she say couple ? Is she serious ? "Are you serious ? Our telling me that the forest wants us to, oh now I see. I apologize for acting so rude. The forest wants us together so we can stop our parents from destroying each other." She first looked confused, then she sighed in relief, I think because I realized what she was talking about. "Now that we're on the same page, I think we should come up with a plan."
